F--- Cooper's "apology"

Oh, wait, sorry for my inappropriate comment on your apology, Coop. There is no excuse for it. It’s outside good sportsmanship. As a BN reader, I should be a role model to Bruins, and this was a bad example. My remarks reflect poorly on everyone here. My bad. I still respect all our opponents, and especially $c* as our rival. Good luck this year.

See? Too late.

I can't wait for the rematch at Pauley

Glad to see Coach Caldwell offer no comment on this toolbag.

As a Laker fan I can't go as far as to call him trash

But he’s certainly drunk plenty of $C arrogance/douchewad-flavored Kool-Aid in such a short time on the job. Yeesh.

Naah

As a Laker fan I will think of him as Trojan trash here on out.

Laker fan.

You can’t blame a guy for taking a job and doing it well. Consciously crossing the line of dignity and decorum, is not a necessary part of any job description.

So, yeah, even as a Laker fan I can cross him of the list of people to respect.

Of course this catches our attention

Because it was aimed at us, but honestly, can you think of any precedent for this? Even if had leveled his expletive at another school, it would still be incredibly embarrassing for his employer as he is a representative of SUC. I was not a fan of his before. I put down there with the likes of Nick Van Exel or Glen Rice as far as favorite Lakers. All I can say is that I’m glad he’s not in the rafters, because he is an embarrassment to both SUC and the Lakers by association.

I’m glad that the Purple and Gold jerseys of two Bruins hang in Staples as constant reminders of both SUC’s second fiddle status in basketball as well as his own second fiddle status in Laker history.

The Lakers are dead to me.

I rooted for Rudy LaRusso and Ray Felix and Jim Crebs and all those guys. Then Buss decides to contribute $800K to just$c*. After that, the Lakers are dead to me. And after our mother dies, Al Neri is going to take you out on a boat in Lake Tahoe and KA-BOOM.

The fact that a no class jerk coaching just$c* b-ball is a former Laker means nothing to me, because they are dead. There are some Bruin alums (and Bruin non-alums) playing pro basketball in LA, but I don’t know who they are. I know they must be necromaniacs, playing with a dead, dead, dead corpse.

I suggest that the Huntington Library donate the famous Corpse Plant or whatever it is to Staples Center, because that’s what it smells like when something dead is in there. And the Lakers are dead. They are non-people, thanks to Buss.

One other point

I really admired and appreciated the absolute, utter sincerity of the apology. It was moving, and it was eloquent. The actual writer of the apology seems to have gathered together the best of the sincere apology speeches from all over. This had the tears of Mike Vick, the pathos of Mark McGwire, and all the sincerity of OJ1. “If I said anything, which I’m not saying I said, and if it caused anyone any problems, and I’m not saying it did or it didn’t (only talking hypothetically), then I want to sincerely state that if anything I may or may not have said, which if I said it was probably taken out of context, might or might not have made anyone sad, then I’m really sorry (purely in a hypothetical sense.”

Everything about just$c* reeks of class. And the typical trOJie doesn’t seem to get it. There are still people on conquest comicals who are defending Timmeh and saying that he was railroaded and nothing was proved.

I always feel a little dirty when I read about just$c* and its population. But I do want to thank the contributor from Rocky Top Talk (or maybe it was a Bruin in response) who said that the Lane Kiffin Sewage Treatment Plant is not in Knoxville, but rather is his new employer.

Way too big of a Laker fan to go Fox's route... though I did laugh at the Corleone ref.

In LA we’re bound to cross wires here and there when it comes to pro-ball. But Coop (Poop) is dead to me for sure. F—- Coop. Let’s face it, anyone would look good playing with Magic in the 80’s.

Guys like Kareem and Gail wore both hallowed uniforms. That removes the Poop tarnish for me. Honestly I can’t hate Buss for what he did with the buy out. It wasn’t in any way intended as a slap to UCLA’s face or malicious. Just an alum with cash helping his “institution”. In fact, I’m thrilled he blew money on that Lame Kitty (might be the nicest thing a trOJan has ever done for UCLA when everything plays out). But if he ever publicly pulled a Poop maneuver, I’d seriously be counting down the last few days he has left. Maybe Fox could just row him out, although I’m headed for Tahoe this summer ;-)

I was a fan of Ken Norton Jr., but now he's dead to me.

There are two schools of thought as to whether Los Angeles had two pro basketball teams or only one. I was part of the one-team contingent. Now that Buss has openly, warmly, intentionally, willingly and happily embraced Satan and his minions, he and all he represents are dead to me. Kareem, Wilkes, Goodrich and all the rest played on an NBA team in Los Angeles, and that’s the way it is. But Buss? Someone has to answer for Sonny, Jerry. Just tell me. I won’t make Kareem an orphan. You’ll just be moved out of UCLA’s business. But somene has to answer for Sonny.

Our great alums may have played for the devil, but they didn’t sell out to the devil like the late Ken Norton Jr., They didn’t set up Sonny or kiss the feet of the Weasel, like Jerry “Carlo Ricci” Buss. No, Buss is dead to me, as is everything about him.

I always tried to give him the benefit of the doubt – he was a great player for UCLA………….that is until the last suc-UCLA football game. He was in the tunnel pregame saying “F-you, F-you, F-you” to our players as they walked by to enter the field. Now, he is dead to me also.

Cooper was a great player, making this all the more sad for Laker fans

It wasn’t just because Cooper played with Magic that he looked good. Larry Bird has said Cooper was the best defender who ever guarded him, and much more could be said about his excellence as a role player.

So given that I’m a big Laker fan, especially of those 80’s teams, this is just sad for me. I was initially offended (as a Bruin and a human being), but all Cooper did was to disgrace himself, so now I just feel a bit sad about that. It’s probably mortifying to SC wbb fans, and, I’d think, to Cooper’s players and staff.

Why couldn’t it be Cornbread Maxwell or M. L. Carr who did this shameful act? Sigh. Hated those guys.
