Around SBN: Jeremy Lin's Game-Winner Was Incredible, Worth Remembering

DC breaks Chris Paul's and Hornets' rookie record with 18 assists. Add 17 points and 6 rebounds to boot. Hey Jrue, this is what happens when you stay in school and develop!!

I really believe DC is a starting PG in the league.

He’s proven in the limited times that he has started in place of CP3. But it really sucks that he’s got to sit behind CP3 for 3 years before becoming a free agent. I’m sure learning from CP3 is a valuable experience but, damn, three years of 15-20 minutes. Maybe LAL can trade for DC if they don’t think Farmar is their long-term solution at PG.

Yes this!!! At this point he could probably come in and start right away giving an aging Fish a ton more rest.

Oh UCLA you sweet bitch, you've BRUINed me for anything else.

One of my all-time favorites.

While DC probably benefitted some from staying in school and developing his game when he could have gone pro, I think his success in the NBA is more directly attributable to his character, work ethic, and team-first attitude. Not coincidentally, these are the attributes that led him to stay for his senior year. DC played for UCLA, not for himself. I will always always root for this guy.

What is funny

Is all the whining from some of Jrue Holiday’s message board shills last year about how Holiday was the better pg on the team than DC.

by Nestor on Jan 31, 2010 8:52 AM PST up reply actions

I don't think Holiday was the better PG

but I think DC was the better 2 guard. Holiday was out of position at 2. DC was a very good outside shooter and could have played 2 in college (never in the pros.). Thus, it might have been better for the team last year to have Holiday run the point and DC play 2. at least some of the time.

Oh I agree with that

I made the point few times during the season that Howland should have tried DC out at the 2 little more because he was a far better shooter. However, some of Holiday’s minions were making the point that Holiday was just a better pg than DC and should have gotten majority of the mins at 1. It was absurd.

+1 on this

“DC played for UCLA, not for himself. I will always always root for this guy.” Could not agree more with that.

Nice job DC!

Nice

picked OJ2’s pocket clean. Honestly, after watching several times, it still is hard for me to understand how he reached the ball. It almost seems like his hand magnetically attracted the ball.

Couple of more things. Loved the call: “Collison…Collison, the star of the day!” Also, got a kick out of CP3 jumping around celebrating Darren’s play. They really seems to have a genuine big bro/little bro relationship going on.

Nobody more deserving.

One of my all time favorite Bruins shows em how it’s done! Good job DC! :)

looks like the Hornets will rely on DC a lot...

CP3 is out for a couple of months. As terrible as it is to have one of the game’s best injured, it will be great experience for our boy to get some great leadership experience in the NBA.
