UCLA @ Cal Bears Highlight
Highlight. Not plural. And even though it's the game winner it's ugly. It serves as a perfect microcosm of this game, and maybe this season so far.
With time running out, one team goes for the game winning shot and throws the ball away. But the other team seems intent on losing and can't get a handle on the loose ball, which Michael Roll snags, drains the game winning shot, and somehow the Bruins manage to pull a win out of the hat.
We got the win, but what's the opposite of a moral victory?

Random Request Tele
This may seem odd, but please please please capture video of James Keefe’s no-call travel (14:54 left in the first half). I’ve watched it ten times and I’m still laughing. I wanna put it up on YouTube alongside the previous “worst travel ever,” a video of Dan Majerle from back in the day. Truth be told, both Majerle and Keefe took eight steps. Too bad the ability to get away with egregious travels is the only aspect of Thunder Dan’s game that JK has incorporated into his own.
While we're on the subject of requests
I don’t suppose you have the game footage from the 2004 UCLA v SUC football game, do you? I think somebody should post the images of South Central’s TWO fumbles the SPTRS took away from us and gift wrapped their one and only National Championship in the Cheat Carroll era.
I know, you are not a magician that pulls rabbits out of hats, I just thought I would ask, figuring the worst that can happen, is you don’t have it.

Jerime Anderson = Wizard on the Court
To hit that Cal player’s hand like that – in order to find that sweet spot – you’ve got to spend countless hours throwing the ball to the other team. He didn’t even get an assist for that game winning pass. Sigh, the great artists are never respected in their own time.
Oh UCLA you sweet bitch, you've BRUINed me for anything else.
Road Win!!
Tough Crowd!!!
We are clearly a team that is going to have trouble getting any win, more less a road win.
Better Bruin teams have ventured to NorCal and came away with nothing.
Lets pat the guys on the back and hope we dont see another drop off after getting a conference win….

Big favor!
Hey Tele, I know there are a couple of us on BN who are abroad and have no access to highlights or broadcasts whatsoever. Is there anyway we can get you to post some more of the game? as ugly a game as it sounds, I would really appreciate it!!
second
not much UCLA coverage in Germany, and it’s always good to see the boys in blue in action.

Complete games are posted at Bruinville
There is a multimedia forum where games are posted. The games usually show up a few days later.

I'll take it!
This season, I’m taking ANYTHING I can get.
Sloppy. Choppy. Floppy. And just plain LUCKY! Whoo-hoo!
We've had games like this go against us.
Reverse karma or upside down karma or George Costanza karma or whatever, it’s about time that we got on like this. Our guys worked hard and they deserved this one.
It's a building win
This"WIN" was a great win. Although sloppy, but a win. Ucla built team chemistry last night against a good cal team. This is a second Pac-10 win. The players are learning that they belong and to believe in CBH. Whether you win ugly or win big. At the end of the year your not looking at the scores your looking at the Wins. Go Bruins!
A Tremendous Victory
After watching the first few games, I thought they might win one or two Pac-10 games. Now they have a chance to go .500 through the Pac-10 and the games will be worth watching to see if they do. JA actually played a decent game for a change. ND and MR have finally started to make the shots we expected. TH looks like a real player who may turn into something as he gets stronger. RN continues to bowl people over and draw fouls. ML continues to shoot bricks but at least he is a Div. I level athlete. They’ve gone from horrible to not bad. You can’t fight for the National Championship every year. Things could be worse. You could have been born a trojan. I love my team and its great to be a Bruin.
notes
I was thoroughly frustrated with the beginning of the UCLA/CAL game and started taking notes of what was so upsetting until the late comeback. Despite an amazing OT win, a real important win for such a young team, I still had two MONSTER issues with this team and was wondering if anyone else agrees:
1. Howlands substitutions: Anderson was benched to start the game and Honeycutt and Lee at PG started the game off with energy we ha vent played with yet this year. Honeycutt was aggressive and strong and Lee set an up tempo aggressive pace for our offense. Then, all of the sudden, Anderson is in, Honeycutt disappears (pretty much for the rest of the game) and we slow down and the mess begins. Why does he always seem to make subs right when we are on a run? I think the subs are our biggest momentum killer, well actually second biggest next to…
2. Jerime Anderson is HORRIBLE. I know everyone is on Dragovitch this season for being a bum, but Jerime Anderson is MUCH MUCH worse. His pass that was deflected and luckily knocked out to Roll at the end of the game was an attempted NO LOOK PASS. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. He must have dribbled the ball off his leg or foot 20 times in the game and looks lost when trying to set the offense up, up top. Lee needs to take over at PG and Honeycutt needs more min as a result. Anderson stinks on D also. He is the weakest link of the team and you cant have that at your starting PG position and Howland HAS to realize this.
Very good points all of them.
A lot of us wonder the same things. My only guess is that he is going to force JA to get better and the only way he can do that is to play him in games as much as possible.

I'll take the win
I hate Cal. They lost and that makes me happy. I’d rather win ugly than lose beautifully, if those are my only two options. I’ll take the W and move on.
I'm right there with you
I utterly despise Kal.
