The Cherry On Top of Trojies Great Day: Damian Williams To Go Pro
Just popping in here to share this:
USC wide receiver Damian Williams will skip his senior season and declare for the NFL draft, he announced Friday.
Williams led the Trojans in receiving the past two seasons.
"It was a difficult decision, but I am blessed to have some great people around me to counsel me, including my family and Coach Carroll," Williams said in a statement.
"The NFL has been a dream of mine since I can remember and I feel that it is my time to take this step to the next level. I am proud to have earned my degree from USC, and that was an extremely important part of this decision for me and my family."
I have this gut feeling next 3-4 weeks leading up to signing day is only going to get better.

He earned his degree?
He would be the first one of Petey’s recruits to have done so.
It sounds more like he just wanted to say “Petey’s gonna draft me!”
Yup
and almost all football players at SC take a class each summer. I have a friend who had classes with Williams and he said that of all the athletes he had class with, Williams was by far the most diligent and intelligent student so good for him getting his degree.

nice for them
guess they don’t need to work summer jobs…
Of course, at $C, being in college for 4 years = 4 semesters in class.
On average.
Of course, that’s ONE class PER semester.

I think this says also says a lot about the NCAA investigation. From the outside looking in, people within SC must have some clue that the hammer is about to drop. No one wants to be around when it happens.
But it never actually happens.
All the signs are there, sure. But it just never happens.
The signs have always been there. The cheating has been going on since before I was born. They cheat, blatantly, constantly, and nothing happens. Marv Goux sells the players tickets and gives them money. Slap on the wrist. Clarence Reece tells all, and I mean all, about payoffs. Nothing happens. The entire world knows about bu$h and the others. Nothing happens.
Nothing ever actually happens.
Fox, You have mentioned some of these names before.
What say BNers assemble and “all times” list of violations that have gone down over at JC. Much like Nestor’s list of transgressions during Cheat Carroll’s era. We should have one of all time transgressions by Trojans.
