Jill Painter (Daily News) Loses Her Brain Cells Over Cheatey Petey
I clicked on her article and read the first two lines (emphasis added):
Please don't go, Pete.
Pete Carroll is everything that's right about college football. He is college football.
Didn't need to go on any further. The "column" is in the Daily News, and I am not going to bother linking it.
It's probably the dumbest piece of garbage I have ever read in a newspaper (and I have read a lot). She puts Marcia Smith to shame. She might be a decent columnist on other days but at least for today, this is what I thought of when I read those first two lines:
Just have to shake our heads in bewildered amusement.
GO BRUINS.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

Funniest thing I’ve read all week.
Carroll put college football in the palm of his hand and skipped and danced and laughed.
And the media, don’t forget the media—he put you in the palm of his hand also.
Carroll has fun with whatever he does, whether he’s fist-pumping in victory after the Emerald Bowl or driving the streets of Compton in the middle of the night, searching to warm the hearts of troubled youth.
All she left out was Humanitarian.
Carroll’s foundation, “A Better L.A.” was magic, too. Who’s going to fill that void? Do you know someone brave enough to roam gang-riddled areas of town after dark to shake hands and talk and listen?
Now it’s just embarrassing.
Just gross
Did she spend a night with him or something? My question is somewhat serious. Just have to wonder what can make someone nonsense like that given the mountain of a baggage (NCAA scandals) he has carried around for years.
just go to the better la website and you will see what its about:
Its about Pete and glorifying Pete the Humanitarian. Its the most damning proof of his hubris and narcissism. Pictures are mostly of him, his name is plastered everywhere, etc.
Its disgusting that the media falls for this garbage.
"when you've seen how big the world is, how can you make due with this?"
The problem is more than the Times
The devoted followers of this site often rage at the Times aka the fish wrap. But this piece illustrates the problem goes far far beyond the Times.

Quick - Call 911
That lady has OD-ed on the Kool Aid.
I don’t think I have ever read such drivel in my entire life. I know this. I don’t want her to write anything about UCLA or anything else I hold dear. I’ll let her write about me, because she will surely not see any of the many flaws.
That’s all. I can’t take any more of this. Nestor, would you mind putting some sort of warning flag on any more of this stuff? It’s just not right to let people stumble into such trash.
Everyone told me to lay off Jill about Favre
BUT C’MON. I actually thought it was a joke for a second.
"I can't believe I ate the whole thing" Homer Simpson
Agreed, Fox
I cannot imagine greater garbage in the form of written word. Absolutely mind-numbing.
Love My Bruins
Just Maybe??
Maybe Jill is the one in that Malibu house with Petey and Matt???? Do you think?

So bad, it should be satire
Please, Pete, you, and your scandal-ridden program, you and your players involved in money scandals and sex scandals and white power scandals and police scandals and coaches involved in animal abuse scandals and Lord knows what else, please don’t leave. You prove to the world the farce that is “amateur” athletics.
Thanks for being such a Humanitarian. We’ll be watching you closely in Seattle and we’ll be sure to let you know how bad the sanctions are which you won’t be around to see.
Do you think it might actually be an attempt at satire, and I just missed it?
It’s pretty good satire, if that’s what it’s supposed to be.
