Just got home from LA

I just wanted say a few things about my trip to your area. First off, the Rose Bowl is a beautiful stadium. There truly are no bad seats. My seats were just above the Gameday crew. I was in at Tunnel 14, row 22. The only downside is that because of the length of the tunnels. I went to the little boys room about an hour before kickoff, did not get back to my seat until 15 minutes before kickoff. I understand the need for the "Pleae wait, tunnel is full" signs, for safety purposes but damn, it took a long time to get back to my seat. ;)

I got some good pics of your favorite coach, who looks to be headed north. I know you guys are heartbroken, heh.

Also, this was my first trip to LA and the scenery did not disappoint. I thoroughly enjoyed my drives up Laurel, Mulholland, the PCH and Sunset. OTOH, the freeways out there are murderous on a visitor. Thank god for my Tom Tom.

I really only had two full days out there, the first of which was spent in Pasadena at the Rose Bowl and the ESPN tailgate. Therefore, I did not get to eat at many of the places I wanted to try. I did make sure and go to In and Out. That was one of  the best fast food burger and fries I have ever gotten my mitts on. I also ate at a little Italian place called Guido's just off the PCH, it was very good. A quick question though, is Randy's Doughnuts still in business? I noticed it on my way from LAX to my hotel in Monterey Park. I tried to find a phone number for it and was unsuccessful. Also my Tom Tom did not find it(and I am not sure where I saw it). I recognized it from several films and TV shows. I assumed it was a LA landmark and wanted to try it on my way back to LAX.

If it weren't for the distance, I think every year's BCSCG should be held at the Rose Bowl. They put on a great gameday and game. If we are lucky enough to make it next year, I probably will not be able to make it to Glendale. Hopefully, we will be in the BCSCG in 2012, as NOLA is within reasonable driving distance and I am quite familiar with NOLA.

Congrats on a fine stadium and a superb setting for our NC. ROLL TIDE and Go Bruins.
