Players' Lack of Respect Toward CRN and Coaching Staff
(Please excuse the cell phone quality) Here might be a prime example of why our program is not elevating to the level of expectations! Seen here (15 sec. mark) is Nelson Rosario after a completed catch on 3rd down, the reciever did not follow the rout far enough to pass the sticks to get a first down, but check out Nelson Rosario's reaction to CRN and staff as they remind him of making sure he gets past the marker on a 3rd down.......Now you be the judge and comment on your interpretation of what you think he tells CRN and staff as he walks away! If you could read lips it looks like he is sayin, "shut up.....man" as he walks away with a poor attitude.
If you can hear the commentating Petros is heard describing what Rosario did wrong.
This is all speculation of course, as I was not there listening to the whole convo, but if he is telling CRN and staff what I think he is then maybe some of our players have already given up on CRN. Is it an example of poor attiutude or weak leadership?
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

Yep
Very… interesting. It’s most likely something in frustration though, happens at the prep levels, so College it might be escalated.

Rosario has a chip on his shoulder!
I was watching that game & I remember that play very clearly. Rosario totally blew it! Everybody has to know what their job assignment is if they don’t do it then they need to be replaced with someone more capable. What good is it to get 3 yards on 3rd down when we need 4 for a first down?! The receivers knew at the huddle that it was going to be a pass play & they should have known where to make their cut so that they can have sufficient yardage to keep the chains moving. That play alone pretty much summed up our season, we should not have punted & we should have gotten a first down instead. It is the little things like that that keeps us from progressing as a football team. Rosario should have been benched after that play or at the very least he should be apologizing to everyone because he was the one who messed up.
In my opinon
It’s Rosarios attitude, which could include a lack of respect for the coaches. To me, this doesn’t put a black mark on CRN, but on Nelson. You don’t walk away when the coach is trying to tell you something after a play. I am concerned he is a Poli-Dixon situation in the making – all of the talent but not enough passion and a little too cocky. I hope that is not the case!
"The entire world that bleeds blue and gold ... they have been dying for this." - Coach Rick Neuheisel
In regards to the question:
the answer is both. Nelson may very well have an attitude problem, but it’s CRN’s job to check that shit. He has to nip it in the bud before it infects others. We saw what happened between Drew Morgan and CBH.
College Football is a sport dominated by Alpha Males and when it comes to a contest of wills, a coach had better win every time. It’s not enough to act like an Alpha Male, he’s going to have to be a bigger one than the guy throwing the attitude.
This little drama is a perfect symbol for this season.

Agreed!
the score at that point of the game was 21-17 down by 4. Theres absolutley no reason at that time to give off attitude, Rosario could be a big time receiver as tall and athletic as hes is! Its a shame…..

Have seen this by others
When Coach Neuheisel talks to the players after they come off the field, most tend to just walk off while he is talking to them. I mentioned this before in one of my posts. Prince never did that but Brehaut, Rosario and others just keep walking by as if no one is speaking to them. When a coach or teacher or anyone is talking to you, you should never just walk off as if what they were saying isn’t worth listening to. The players should be admonished for this. That is a real lack of respect. I know as a player you don’t want to hear about what you did wrong, but you need to listen and respect the coach. I’ve seen this many times this year. Any of our receivers that do this, should be benched. The way most of them are playing this year – they would deserve it.
Yup
Its pretty clear somtimes players have done this previously. The team definitely lacks that heart I saw when they played Texas. But Im hoping that this weeks game brings back that same fire, besides, Im sure they can remember last seasons game and have no problems finding some fire!! GO BRUINS BEAT SC!

I do know
that the players hate Chuck Bullough. He apparently was a reason several of last years recruits nearly chose other schools…and I’m talking true frosh starters on the defensive side. They can’t stand his conservativism, and I can’t either.
If This Is True
If CRN is not demanding the respect of his student/athletes — it’s a major strike against him.
Although he was not my first choice, I have been a strong supporter since the day he was hired.
I am willing to suffer the mistakes on the field.
However, I am not willing to suffer a failure to teach these young men respect and personal responsibility. Screw up and you should learn from it, not walk away.
To me, if this is true, it’s the worst thing I’ve heard about CRN since he came here.
And, if it’s true, I’d just as soon Rosario leave — as I was not unhappy to see Gordon leave. UCLA stands for much more than athletic accomplishment. Accomplishment without strong character means nothing.
