Hey Bruins fans,
Greeting from DC. I had lunch with Nestor last week and he said it would be cool if I posted on here, even though he totally disagrees with me on the subject of college playoffs. Ha.
I'm running an organization called Sports Fans Coalition and we're fighting to give fans a voice on public policy issues like blackouts and stadium financing. (Here's a NYT article about us that should give you a good summary.) One of our issues is the BCS. (Here are some blog posts on the BCS.) We're fighting to expose the corruption and flaws with the current system.
My father was a former Harris poll voter and BCS exec director Bill Hancock is a family friend. And here I sit, battling the BCS and the bowl system every day because of how unfair it is.
I'm sure most of you favor a playoff. You should, anyway. After all, given that you're a traditional powerhouse with a really strong recruiting, you could be playing for the national title every season.
Anyway, in order to be heard often and on the biggest stage (i.e. ESPN), we need an army of supporters behind us. Then they will have no choice but to listen to our criticisms of the BCS.
We just need you to join up. It's free and we're not going to spam you and we're not asking for money. We just need numbers. That's it!
And if anyone is interested in getting more involved with Sports Fans Coalition or wants to be our LA chapter chair, drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks and best of luck to the Bruins the rest of the way.
