Positives and Negatives
Quick thoughts if this goes down:
Negatives:
1. Lose a well-respected OC (he was at least until 2008) → could hurt PR.
2. He’ll know how to attack out defense next year when we play them.
Positives:
1. Get Texas to pay a big buyout (hopefully) or something along those lines.
2. Since we’ll (HOPEFULLY, PLEASE GOD LET IT BE TRUE) a new DC, Negative #2 is pretty much negated.
3. We know his offense.
4. Get a chance to find someone exciting to be OC.
Another Positive
We will know all 4 plays Texas will try and run.
Wouldn't be the end of the world
Literally all I care about this off season is replacing Bullough. Chow would do much better here once we got a decent OLine, but the fact that he has gotten worse as our OLine has improved to nearly average isn’t really encouraging. I know competition was tougher this year, but its just a head scratcher.
I'm more worried about the PR hit we'll take if he moves on.
Because let’s face it, it doesn’t take a genius to know how to attack our defense.
But, if Norm Chow moves on with this blip on his resume, it will reflect worse on us than it does for him. If Norm Chow is given the keys to Texas program, he will turn that program into the same juggernaut he had with South Central. Meanwhile, everyone around the country will rightfully say, it wasn’t Norm.
And as for Maccabita’s list the negatives far outweigh the positives.
The best thing you can do for your children is to love their mother. John Wooden
"it doesn’t take a genius to know how to attack our defense."
You mean, like run and pass?
If only some other school was interested in CRN!
Makes just about as much sense.
Maybe someone else is ready to drink from the old passion bucket!
