Go ladies!
The group of 15 friends who planned and executed the prank were all women.

Sorry guys....
As much as I hate $C, we can’t on the one hand condemn vandalism in the name of Game Week when it happens to us and then cheer the same thing when it happens at SC. It’s a wrong way to get fired up for the game in both cases. All it does is deface university property. Just my two cents.
I may work with the Waves, but I'm still a Bruin!

Don't have a problem
with it as long as it is done properly. Last year, the paint thrown on the Bruin was not easy to clean and became expensive. The paint used in this prank is water based and can be easily cleaned with some soap and water. Also, I believe the red dye used in the fountains isn’t too bad.
It’s all in the spirit of the rivalry and as long as nobody gets hurt, its fine.
Lighten up, Francis
I believe the reaction around these parts to the dye was a collective “Meh”. Hardly a condemnation. And as King J77 notes, the use of water based paint stretches the definition of “vandalism”. We got them and without involving their cleaning crews or whoever in an expensive and time consuming cleanup job.
After the kind of paint they dumped on the Bruin last year
they should have bleached/salted UCLA into their field, but then BlueWave may have had a point. lol I have no issue with this prank when it looks like it was easily cleaned up with a hose.
Great "Stripes" reference :)
I guess I’m just looking at it from the viewpoint of a university staffer who’s had to call maintenance many times to take care of what students no doubt thought was harmless fun and would be an easy fix. The problem is, it still requires a fix.
Trust me, I hate $C as much as everyone.

Have to Disagree
This rivalry has turned malicious, but pranks like this are not the problem. Congrats to the Ladies for getting some payback. This is what rivalry is all about, good “clean” fun.
Hope your team has a injury free game, while losing to SC. This should always be considered a premier rivaly game nation wide, I’m only sorry it’s lost the luster it had in the past.
FIGHT ON!

The thing that makes this perfectly fine IMO
The students used a water-based paint that is easy to wash with water and soap.
Well done ladies.
Would love some pictures
if anybody has the misfortune of being around Fig Tech this morning, please try and take a few pics.
This kind of makes me mad
So far CBS and FOX11 have both done a story on the “vandalism,” including FOX sending their reporter to Fig Tech to interview the cardigan-wearing trogan d-bags yet they couldn’t take the time to go film the paint. How come as soon as anything happens on our campus their are pictures up immediately?

pretty sure our fountains
were filmed from a helicopter
True
But how hard is it to fly a helicopter over the practice field? I’m sure they’re already doing traffic reports in the area seeing as it is in downtown LA. Last year they had closeups of the bear

I totally agree with you
the media seemed a bit more interested in capturing the crap they did to our campus on video. Pretty aggravating.
KABC helicopter flew over

One thing about the story I find hard to believe
Per the article in the Daily Bruin:
“The students were unable to raise money for a larger-scale prank and said this was plan B. "
They either didn’t hit up the right people of soemthing is wrong with our fanbase. I’d pony up any resources available to pull off something major.

Red dye in some fountains isn’t nearly as damaging and costly as paint on the field, the poles, nearby bikes, and the row. (AMP Radio reported all this damage).
It’s not right to involve personal property in what should be a fun rivalry. Those students who have splattered paint all over the bikes probably had no part in the red dye and may not even be interested in the rivalry.
Must be new to the rivalry
Pretty sure the state and/or University didn’t want to have to pay to clean the oil based paint off of our Bruin. It’s freaking water based paint. it will come off with some soap and water…but then again, expecting a trojan to own soap is asking a lot. Explains their bed bug issues.
They should have splashed
teague’s golfcart with some paint.
One one of the FB players Range Rovers....
Errr…I mean Impala’s….Errr…..Uhhh…Meant to say Bike.
There's the trogan logic again
Red dye = “fun rivalry”
Blue water based paint = TURRIBLE DAMAGE HERP DERP
Red oil based paint that requires extensive cleanup = “fun rivalry”
Kristal-UCLA is my Property!
So, when a bunch of spoiled children rolled over here and poured painted on the Bruin statue, my property was damaged. When some $UCkas rolled over here and spray painted SUC all over the campus, my property was damaged. When some Lame Kittens used a stencil and weed killer to burn ’$C in the grass throughout the campus, my property was damaged. So as far as I am concern, forget your property too!!!! Pay back is a you-know-what!!! Go Bruins!!!

BEAT $C!
Why are the trogans in blue chairs.
I feel bad for the people having to clean up, but the blue and yellow water looks beautiful.
Go Bruins!
Daily Bruin posted pics
So go check our the front page.
I’m glad we got them back, but I disagree with dumping paint on individual property. That’s just not right. I know I’d be pretty pissed if there was red paint on my car or something, especially if I weren’t a football fan.
Aside from that, glad to know our student body has guts.
Go Bruins and Beat SC
A post on the Daily Bruin website
the operation is not complete. Email at blackopsbruin@yahoo.com prior to 1600 hours today if you are a true Bruin and want to be involved with the next phase.

I think it'd be funny if there was no phase 2
And we get them all on alert for nothing. That’d be a decent job of IRL trolling.
what wouldn't be funny
is if it’s a trogan forming this “phase 2” and then tips off campus security at fig tech ahead of time. rivalry week sting operation…
Like labeling something 1, 2 and 4
But leave out the 3 so passers-by will try to look for it?
Love to see the UCLA ladies...
…have the balls to do what the men wouldn’t do last year. Go UCLA
P-USC is good for only one thing-to get f***!!!!
I think it's ironic that it took a group of girls to show they had a pair and do something.
As far as I’m concerned, the vandalizing of Joe Bruin last year and the Fountains this year, fell squarely on the shoulders of the Frats to avenge. I’m glad the Girls stepped up, Sorority or not.
Guys, I’m looking at you!
The best thing you can do for your children is to love their mother. John Wooden
I think they've proved that they are women, not girls!
JK Mexi! Anyway, is, was there a part II? Anyone know? And how are we going to stop the idiot BOY with sword from going out on the field today?
Go Bruins!
