Bumped - P. UCLA soccer holds a 3-2 halftime lead over Louisville, in the NCAA Men's Quarterfinal at Louisville.
Today is the final Saturday of the year that we have a full slate of college football to watch. While the Bruins look to end the college regular season in style after the 7:30pm kickoff with $C, there are several compelling games leading into our battle at the Rose Bowl. In addition to the $C game, there are two other Pac-10 rivalry games coming up today, both with postseason implications (all times noted - Pacific).
#1 Oregon @ Oregon State, 12:30pm, ABC. The Ducks and the Beavers both have significant skin in this game, opening the door for an even bigger than normal Civil War. With a win in Corvallis this afternoon, the Ducks advance to the BCS championship game to play either Auburn or TCU. Meanwhile, the Beavers need a win in order to advance to a bowl game - either the Holiday bowl or Sun Bowl.
Washington @ Washington State, 4pm, Versus. The Cougars host this year's Apple Cup; a victory will, for Washington, allow them to rise to the top of the murky middle of this year's Pac-10 by advancing to a bowl game, while Washington State can take the momentum displayed in the later half of conference play to heart with a win today (As well as knock their hated rival out of bowl contention).
There are also three BCS-conference championship games this afternoon and evening (get used to it Bruins, next year the Pac-10/12 gets one of these, as well as the Big 10).
SEC Championship game at Atlanta: #2 Auburn v. #18 South Carolina, 1pm, CBS.
ACC Championship game at Charlotte: #12 Virginia Tech v. #20 Florida State, 4:45pm, ESPN.
Big XII Championship Game at Jerry's Palace: #10 Oklahoma v. #13 Nebraska, 5pm, ABC.
Don't forget that in addition to these football games, there is postseason Bruin Futbol later this afternoon. UCLA Men's Soccer plays Louisville in an NCAA tournament quarterfinal match at 4pm pacific, at Louisville. No TV coverage, but the match is expected to be streamed via NCAA All Access.
For those games, and any others being played this afternoon, this is your open thread.
