December 4, 2010, may go down as the worst day in UCLA sports history. THREE of our beloved sports teams ended their seasons with losses today.
Football we already know about, but #9 women's volleyball also lost to #6 Texas in the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament (NCAA royally screwed us with the seeding, why are two top 10 teams playing each other in the SECOND round??), and #8 men's soccer lost to #1 Louisville (the only undefeated team in the country) in the Elite Eight, at Louisville in the SNOW, with temperatures in the teens, which our own kingslook (who was AT that frigid game) says definitely played a factor in our loss.
And to top it off, there was horrific story of a multiple stabbing at the Rose Bowl before the game.
IMO, this was much worse than last Friday, since basketball's loss to VCU didn't destroy our entire season, and we still have time to improve.
So can anyone think of a worse day in UCLA sports history? (And I mean in terms of actual sporting events, not the day we hired a coach you don't like.)
