Damn.

As Nestor and many other people have said, he really was a Ben Ball Warrior who never developed the way he was projected, but gave it his all nonetheless.

Too bad. I hope he excels at whatever career he chooses.

Aww

That is a shame but he needs to do what it best for him. Thank you, JK and we will see you on Senior Day!

Good luck James

Thank you for everything you have done and for all the sacrifices you have made for those four letters. Good luck with the surgery and finish your last quarter in Westwood strong.

Thanks JK

Your career didn’t work out as we had all hoped, but you were a model of dedication to this team.

Now go kick ass in whatever you do with your life!

But hey, what do I know. I’m just the 800 lbs bruin in the room.

Bummer!!

Best of luck to Mr. James Keefe. Great that he’s on pace to graduate and is going to try and play pro somewhere.

Farewell, and thanks

No matter what happened on or off the court, he always comported himself like a Bruin. Best of luck to him.

Thank you, James!

Good luck on your surgery and hope you get to play BB again. You have made the blue and gold PROUD!

Too bad

I wish him all the best – he has character and dedication and knows what it means to be a proud Bruin!

THANK YOU, JK!!!!!!!

Solid guy, never had a real breakthrough (outside of the KL year), but played until he just broke.

Limited, but played all the way up to his limits. Ultimately, you can’t ask more of a Bruin athlete than that — total and honest effort. JK gave us that. And there’s honor in that.

Best of luck to you, JK, in whatever path you take. You’ll be amazed at what doors open up for you with a degree with those four letters on it.

THANK YOU for giving until you couldn’t give any more.

You’re always welcome in BN.

You’re a Ben Ball Warrior.

Many Thanks and Best Wishes

JK always gave his all, and always handled himself with class and dignity. Thank you for representing our university and best wishes with whereever your life leads.

Many thanks Mr. James Keefe.

Your hard work and blue collar game are greatly appreciated. I wish you nothing but the best in any and all of your future endeavors.

All the best JK

If only the talent matched the heart. Even then, I’d rather have 5 JK’s than the show we’re getting nowadays

Thank you, JK

What an unfair ending. After all JK has been through, and all his dedication and effort, he deserved to play out his senior season. I hope the operation goes well and he has a quick recovery. We’ll be cheering like crazy for him on Senior Day.

A Warrior.

Keefe always gave all he had, and I appreciate that. Even though I’ve been frustrated with his play, he did everything he could, and that’s all you can ask. I only wish he could have been on the court and started on Senior Day.

Such a shame

I know JK never lived up to the lofty expectations many had for him, but I’m glad that he was a Bruin. Without him, the third final four run might not have happened and I’m proud to see that he will be graduating. I don’t think the pro career at any level is realistic, but if it helps him get through having his season end than keep the faith James.

For those that haven’t been to Pauley this year, JK has by far the best video introduction: "James Keefe…….Senior……..(long pause)…..FORward………..(uncomfortably long pause)……………Santa Margarita. Cracks me up everytime.

+1

Absolutely absurd intro video. Cracks me up everytime. It’s the William Shatner of intros.

by bruinhopeful on Feb 18, 2010 4:54 PM PST up reply actions

yes!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a morbid and robotic self-intro in my life! Hopefully they keep it in the video for the remainder of this season (the two home oregon games). So hilarious!

The difference

JK is graduating-he worked his tail off on the court- and is ready to move onto a new chapter in his life. Thanks Mr. Keefe your recorsd shows the difference between being a Bruin and being at some other “school”

James, thank you for the WKU game

That’s my JK highlight. I was in the stands in PHX for the game and will never forget how huge JK was in that game. 18 and 12 when we needed it most. Awesome memory.

Back in the early 90's

I know it’s stoneage for many here, in software, Microsoft had people employed as evangelicals. True belivers in the product, but not the “pro’s”. A role for JK? Thank you JK.

Geezer in training.

I feel for him

In 2007 he had surgery a month after I did by the same doctor for the exact same injury. It was that reason that my military career was cut short. I was really rooting for the guy to get better in every way. I wish JK the best in whatever he decides to do.
