Around SBN: Ellenberger vs. Sanchez Heats Up, Hughes Talks Retirement

The Dodgertown Classic is quickly sneaking up on us. The Bruins will square off against the Trojans on Sunday at 2 pm PST at Dodger Stadium in a game that is HUGE for the program. Tickets are $5 if you buy them ahead of time at the UCLA CTO or $10 at the stadium on Sunday.

USC's athletic department is getting it done by really reaching out to alums and students, while UCLA sales are below what was hoped right now. Don't let the Trojans outnumber us. Grab a ticket, bring your friends, wear your blue and show up to watch a Bruin victory.

UPDATE (N):
Per the Morgan Center UCLA has already sold its original allotment of 1,000 tickets and has received additional tickets. Apparently they are taking an ad. out on the Daily Bruin today and in addition Coach Savage is going to appear on PT's basketball post game shot on Thursday night to talk about this Classic. All positive steps but we shouldn't relent and let's flood Chavez Ravine with UCLA blue. GO BRUINS.

It really makes me sad

seeing how pathetic our marketing dept. really is. I haven’t seen ANY publicity on campus. Maybe they will finally get off their lazy a** and at least put a ad in the Daily Bruin or something.

It really is pathetic

The USC marketing dept. is kicking the UCLA dept.‘s ass. Even things that require no money whatsoever they are doing. They contacted every fraternity and sorority to get them to come out and really sold them on supporting the team as well as the fact that all proceeds go to the Dodger Dream Foundation so their time there would count as community service time for the entire frat/sorority. Our marketing dept….well they played a short video during basketball games and took three more weeks to put that video, which was provided by the Dodgers, on the official site. They’re on fire.

Hey Rye

The last few times I’ve tried to go to your UCLA baseball twitter page, it says the page doesn’t exist. Is there something wrong with my computer or is the page down?

At least the marketing dept. is doing something now

I guess that’s progress and what they are going to do is good on their part. They still have done little to engage the students or show any personal and creative means of advertising.

The school got an allotment of only 1K tickets?

So, 2% of the stadium?

Will this be on TV? I’d love to go but must attend to the Lakers-Nuggets game that afternoon.

Coach Savage is aiming for 10,000 in attendance

so 10%, but they’ve since gotten more tickets so it’s not as if they’re limited to 1,000.

Game will be on Prime Ticket.
