Now that's the sign of a good family
Reminds me of a story one of my co-workers told. Her husband is a big Alabama fan. When one of their daughters was younger, she was thinking about being a vetrinarian. Auburn has a good vet program, so she mentioned about going there for college. When she left the room, her dad said, “I’d sooner cut off my hand than write a check to that place.” That’s pretty much how I feel about u$c* (not that it would ever cross Jonathan’s mind).
Or, if you raise your kid well and he understands
self esteem, personal dignity, etc This will be the standard response.
Words of wisdom
to all the “UCLA Grads SC Dads” out there.

LOL
Yeah, bashing SC Dad lead to some pretty epic threads (although many OT)

I hadn't thought about that guy in a long time.
As I recall, he wasn’t all that strong on sticking with the point of the argument. The notion of anyone allowing a child to go there is something I just can’t grasp, but someone who graduated from UCLA allowing that to happen. The more I think about it, the more I think that guy was actually Bill and Ted.
I have a 19 year-old at UCSD
Before we had even started talking about colleges, I heard him say to a friend, “I won’t go there, and my dad would never pay a penny to that place (USC).”
Some things just don’t need to be expressly communicated.

As I recall CRN went to USC Law School...
I still forgive him.
Going to grad school is a little different
We have had looooooooooooong thread on BN discussing that point.
haha
Passed on USC dental to go to the east coast…
Nope.
Had microfracture surgery on my left knee at 2:00pm so my patients were safe from signing day. Got to catch most of signing day fun from the phone and computer in the morning. Overall, worked out well. Now get to rest and enjoy all the good news.
Thanks.
Yeah, I can hobble around a little… Won’t need crutches, just rest and rehab. In a strange its fun, for once I get to be the patient and have everyone take care of me. I’ve got my daughter doing ice runs to the fridge. Even got her in UCLA garb still.
I missed that...
I didn’t apply to SUC when I was doing law school applications.
I didn't either
However, I can totally see many Bruins deciding to go to their grad schools and maintain their loyalty. I know plenty of them and they are as diehard Bruins and absolutely loathe their sports programs. Similarly many Michgian alums who go to ND for law school and vice versa. Going to undergrad/grad is very different deal in terms of sports loyalty.
As lawyers say, I don't want to relitigate a subject already discussed...
Just a personal choice for me. I simply could not spend three years on that campus.
Well once you've decided to go to Law School
You’ve already sold your soul anyway.

There are a few USC graduate/professional school alums on this site
I applied to USC Law Center (they even sent an application fee waiver and recruitment letter from one of their profs), but passed on that to go east.

One of my best friends went to SUC Law School...
And he happens to be the most passionate Bruin I know.
Hey, that's already the rule for Ms. M and me...
Kids can go anywhere they want, but Fig Tech.
And if, by some inescapable feeling of parental weakness and pity we don’t renounce familial ties with them — they pay for it.

Yep
Already told my daughter: “Not one penny of my hard earned money will ever go to SC.”

My 4 year old knows ...
USC loses because they are bad
When discussing my choice in film schools,
I was once asked why I didn’t choose SC. I replied, “I would have disowned myself.”
The best thing you can do for your children is to love their mother. John Wooden
I like them already!
Sounds like the kind of family I’d like to hang out with!
GO BRUINS!!!
