Cal Game shots (edited: Now with bonus pics!)

Bumped. GO BRUINS. -N

I was on the fence as to what to do about this post -- I shoot RAW and JPEG (at the same time), but rarely ever use the JPEGs the camera makes for me. I almost always postprocess a bit, and this weekend, I didn't get back to the computer I normally process photos on. I didn't want to disappoint, though, so I'm going to post the JPEGs the camera made for now, and when I get around to doing the postprocessing, I'll edit the post to have the better pictures. Here we go!

I finished the post work, and I decided to include a few more pictures! See the end for bonus shots. --b d

It's a fast break...and Dragovic has the ball?! Huh?

Believe it or not, Noodles is extremely difficult to get a good shot of.

Even through tough coverage, Michael Roll scored a team-leading 22 points!

These guys were sitting in the Den, sans the basketball shorts/jerseys. Yeah. Awkward.

The good news: the Den is going nuts. The bad news: this is during a timeout. (Sarah Leonard Jewelers promotion).

Reeves is beastly!

Further proof that the Dance Team need not show skin to turn heads. In fact, they can do the exact opposite!

Now, I know it's fashionable to rip on Malcolm Lee for his "pitbull" tweet, but I think anything on twitter should be taken with a huge grain of salt (or we could just condemn twitter as a blight on the internet). This will be more obvious when I repost with the processed pictures, but this photo was taken at 11:45, an hour and change before tipoff. ML was in Pauley practicing before *I* got there, and I gotta give him props for it.

Bonus Pictures!

To make up for the meh quality of the placeholders before, I've included some extra bonus pictures!

Tipoff! (I didn't include this one before because it needed heavy postprocessing)

New (?) shirts. I like them! Text reads: "(script) UCLA / Impossible is Nothing"

Nice work

Btw, after the Stanford game, I saw Nikola Dragovic wearing some outfit that was like a mashup of what the dance team is wearing in this halftime shot. Needless to say, it did not work as well on Rago.

Is it bad that I'm both intrigued and repulsed by this image?

On one hand, I think it would be hilarious. On the other…Drago in a neon track suit.

the watch promotion picture

This is exactly why the hardcore members in the Den get so frustrated with the other students. We know they can make deafening noise because they do it for the giveaways. They just fail to do it during a game when it actually matters.

Funneling that excitement it important to our success.

Maybe we should have a group that watches for the best fans of the day….instead of the best fan for 5 seconds.

The Den

Has been on fired last two games. Could here the excitement through TV and looked great on TV as well. Should be interesting how it looks during the Oregon home stand (at this point I wouldn’t blame them for sapped spirit).

I know you mean "on fire"

but the typo amuses me greatly. “The Den’s not on the hot seat yet, but…” :P

The signs...

The signs were put together in the late 70’s. The guy who made them carried them for years, then passed them on to the next gut for a few years. I was the first one and done, due to graduation and relocating away from LA, not any decision to work it that way. We had a caucus to determine who the next guy should be. We also decided to start signing the signs at that time.

Yep

I am the current sign-holder, so as he points out the signs are definitely older than me since I’m only 21. In fact, not only has everyone signed them, Digger Phelps signed the “Digger is a Wimp” sign when he was here for College Gameday two years ago.
