Sadly Epic: The 2010 Bitter Bowl Bracket
Epic post from our friends at Maize n Brew. Bruins check in with much deserved number 3 seed:
No. 3 Seed - UCLA Bruins
Up until this past year, bowl games for UCLA really weren't causes for celebration. They were reasons to throw things at your head coach. Personally I think Tennessee fans took their inspiration in nearly burning Lane Kiffin at the stake from the Bruins faithful. The Bruins constant underachievement on the football field can be credited to Karl Dorrell and his inept coaching staff, which left UCLA's fan base with little hair to pull out. Until this years "triumph" over Temple in the Whogivesacrap Bowl (repeat the first part, "over Temple"), UCLA's last Bowl win was over Northwestern in the Sun Bowl (repeat that again, too). Then look on the hardwood. Despite being a national power in men's basketball, UCLA inexplicably deteriorated into a 14-18 team. 14-18! This despite receiving votes in this season's pre-season polls. Since John Wooden took over in 1948, UCLA had two losing basketball seasons (Steve Lavin's last year and Ben Howland's first). Basically, they were Michigan on the hardwood. After this season, they still are.

That was pretty funny.
but it would be hilarious if it weren’t so true. I’m looking forward to our Final Four match-up with the Wolverines, and really looking forward to never appearing in their bracket again!

Michigan's a tough draw
I think today’s news that Ohio State extended Jim Tressel’s contract to 2014 will be just enough anti-motivation to push the Wolverines over the top in the battle of bitterness.

I just want to know how I didn’t know they were trying to instal Admiral Akbar as the Ole Miss Rebel (Alliance) mascot to replace Colonel Reb – where are the OT fanshots when you need them…?

Guess when Ole Miss gets lulled into a false sense of security heading into a game their mascot would always be there to let them know that it’s a trap.
We got snubbed with a 3 seed
but the “whogivesacrap bowl” that’s awesome….and who said we weren’t going to make a final four this year? :)

I think Michigan wins it all. While are very much in the same boat, our down turn has been more recent while theirs has been more enduring. Not to mention we lost to Michigan in hoops last year!
