I received the email from ucla about buying a women’s tournament shirt and decided I’d head off to campus to what else they had supporting women’s bball. Looked everywhere, found nothing, not even the one that could be ordered online. I asked for help (it’s a big store, I may have missed it). The woman said they had nothing that said anything about wbb. She added that there is nothing about gymnastics and that after meets people come in asking and they have nothing. What’s up with that? I guess I’ll be contacting the student store folk, but you’d think they could have something!

Also, I noticed that the NCAA gymnastics regionals are being held at Pauley. I hope the Bruins are there, I’d love to see them.

The student store is a joke. The prices are inflated across the board, which is one reason none of the alumni I know shop there. Every time I visit, I smirk at the price tags and keep my wallet in my pocket. In addition, except for a few t-shirts, the only sports gear is for football and men’s bb. It would be cool to get a UCLA soccer or baseball uniform, but you won’t find it at the UCLA Store. This is the same place that once stocked and sold Duke basketball jerseys when we played the Blue Devils at Pauley.

I don’ t think anyone at the UCLA Store does market comparisons to realize how out of touch the store’s pricing is compared to that of most college bookstores or general retailers. I have never even seen a customer or alumni survey from the store. Although the UCLA Store’s selection is pretty big, even U$C* has more merchandise and a more appealing store design. I can’t tell who the UCLA Store manager is, but he or she needs to be fired.
