First, this is about a week and a half old. My apologies if this was already posted, but I couldn't find it in the archives. Mr. BB told me about this yesterday when I told him about Mikey Garrett's attack on DG and CRN. This was reported by WWL (sorry, Mr. BB only sent me text, no link).

UCLA's Dan Guerrero is a nominee for the Athletic Director of the Year Award given by Street & Smith’s SportsBusiness Journal and SportsBusiness Daily.

Other candidates include Dick Baddour from the North Carolina, Gene Bleymaier from Boise State, Mal Moore from Alabama and Gene Smith from Ohio State.

The Sports Business Awards recognize excellence and outstanding achievement in the business of sports for the period from Jan. 1, 2009, through Feb. 28, 2010. Athletic directors from colleges and universities in the United States were eligible, according to a release.

Winners will be announced on May 20 at the Marriott Marquis in New York City.

 

 Maybe Mikey's attack was motivated by some sour grapes.
