Around SBN: NFL Players Ready To Welcome Gay Teammate

Highlights from UCLA Football's "Pro Day." Bruins including ATV, Brian Price, Bosworths showed their skills to NFL coaches and scouts in Pauley Pavilion and Spaulding Field.

Gold posted stats from today's actions on his blog. He also has a story up on all of our guys going at it this afternoon. The report also includes some nice comments from Ben Olson, who gave it his best shot. Good luck to all of our guys.

Any word on ATV?

Where he’s projected to go? I know all of us here think he’s one of the very best CB prospects, but we have to accept our own bias. I wonder if anybody’s found any mock drafts that possibly indicate where he might go. 3rd? 4th? 5th? later? not at all?

Of course, regardless of what happens, ATV will be one of our bosses one day, pulling in mucho, mucho dinero. He is arguably the smartest football player on a big-6 conference team in recent memory (and yes, I’m including the Rhodes Scholar from Florida St. Anthropology or whatnot is NOT applied mathematics at one of the toughest schools in the country.)

What is up with

Reggie Carter? He was shown briefly there, but I haven’t heard or seen much about him in terms of where he’ll land/if he’ll land.

Found a video..

Don’t know what teams have interviewed him but we rarely find that out..From Pro Day he did well on the bench, did like 3 less reps than BP did at the combine but his 40 time wasn’t good.

Honestly

Reggie Carter didn’t look very good. He looked kind of sloppy and he looks like one of those strong upper bodied guys that doesn’t have the legs under him to make it in the NFL’s new pass happy frenzy.

Kyle Boz looked like a true LB’r with everything you want from the position. Good feet, good burst, decent speed, decent hips. He’ll probably be 7th rounder or priority free agent.

ATV looked very fluid and smooth, but he didn’t look very explosive. I thought even the old returning guys looked more explosive. He didn’t run or do the bench, and for the most part was a forgotten man on the day. I expect he’ll be drafted in the 5th round. I hope they go off of his tape, where I thought he showed to be a 3rd round prospect or better.
