[N]ew coach Pete Carroll learned at the college level that recruiting better talent increases dramatically the chances of on-field success.
At the NFL level, the best recruiting tool is cash.
Of course, some would say that it works well for college programs, too.

Zing!
Ain’t that the truth. It’s only a matter of time before he trips up and his true colors come out. He won’t have the Slimes to pimp him anymore.
I expect Cheat Carroll to field slightly above mediocre teams
for 5 years at which point he will blame the Seahawks organization for not giving him full control of all football operations. He will then return to South Central after they have finished serving their probationary period. At which point they will return to business as usual. The Trogan Times and BSPN will continue to inflate his ego with unearned praise.

That is precisely what is going to happen
It’s funny because I see the two vectors of 1) Peatie bombing out in the pros (again) and 2) Lame and company failing to adequately rebuild after $anCtions, merging somewhere around the same time. I think five years like you said.
Speaking of things we saw in the past: John Robinson II. How did that work out for them? I would love to have Peatie come back on a level playing field and kick the crap out of him. Seriously, go for 2 points every time. Should be an unspoken rule by now.

agree with you completely.
When Cheat reappears, it won’t be to the vacuum that existed in LA when he arrived. Toledo was proving he could not manage a National Championship caliver program, Dorrell was still only an Receivers Coach. When he comes back, Neuheisel will have established himself and shown he can build a Champion. Without paying for players.
