I love Karl Dorrell and I've known him a long time but when we got here there were no offensive linemen

"The entire world that bleeds blue and gold ... they have been dying for this." - Coach Rick Neuheisel
exactly
Any team who wants to win has to have the hogs upfront to get it done. I’m glad we are there ( or really close) I feel our line should do well against every team we play , especially if we get stronger and stay healthy. I predict a great year! Go BRUINS !!!

ROFL
Sad but true.
And to think of all of those UCLA fans and alums that insisted on going down with the SS Karl Dorrell to the very end…
or to think
There are some UCLA fans out there who think saying that we should just forget what happend under KD. Chow laying it down like that. Just wow. Can’t imagine what Chow and his colleagues think of the job Dorrell did in the background when reporters are not around.
Seriously
You gotta wonder what things the current staff says behind closed doors. Serious class acts for all of the nice things they’ve said about Dorrell in the last two and a half years.

I think he's being nice
There weren’t any running backs, QBs, or wide receivers either.

I don’t know how a college coach let’s a program , any program , get to that state! Love KD as a player but man can’t believe he did that to his team .

and this is why
Kevin Craft deserves a Purple Heart.
This is why I thought the criticism of him last year
by not very knowledgable fans was baseless. I don’t care how great of an OC you are, without a decent offensive line there is no way you can produce a good offense.
QB and OL are the hardest offensive positions to develop, as its very rare a player can step in his first year and be effective. This is the season that it will be fair to evaluate the performance of NC has an OC.

Absolutely
This is the season to evaluate NC’s performance as an OC.
And in my book, I think he has already done more than most any other OC would do in this position by moving slightly away from his pro system, which got him the success and recognition he has earned to date, and implemented a new system (PIstol) in an effort to continue improving and evolving. Not sure whether this was NC doing or something that CRN wanted or if it was a joint decision/idea. However the Pistol got to Spaulding (and hopefully to the Rose Bowl next season) it takes a very humble and self-assured person and coach to embrace such a change. We had an ineffective running game for a variety or reasons over the past few years. So what do CRN and CNC do? They go out and learn and implement a scheme that most consider the most effective means to run the football in college.
CBH did it last year but way to late (moving to a zone defense). Change is hard. I wish it came as easy to CBH as it seems to have come for CNC.
There is no doubt in my mind that the offense will be SIGNIFICANTLY improved over the past 2 seasons. Maybe that’s stating the obvious. But it’s worth stating.
i agree
if the coaches in the NFL or College played the game the same way they did it 40 years ago they would get creamed! Football is an ever evolving game, same priniples just newer (better?) schemes. i think CRN an CNC are taking a “whatever it takes” attitude towards this coming season. its hard to play or coach out of your comfort zone so i am excited to see what happens in the coming months. great stuff though Bald Eagle! well said.

Line Wins Games
When we have a dominant OL, we will be a dominant team. End of story.

Reminds me of an old Casey Stengel quote....
When asked by a reporter why the Mets had just signed a catcher, Stengel said, “Without one we’d have a lot of passed balls.” :)
I may work with the Waves, but I'm still a Bruin!
sucks
i guess the la times is reporting that reggie bush has settled – no deposition.. sucks…
oh and yes Karl killed our program…

No surprise
Bush is an exceptional football player but as a person he is weak. He did not have the moral courage to answer a single question, not one, about why his parents were living where they did while he was a student athlete.

Have To Respect
a coach who just cuts to the chase, tells it like it is.
Coach Chow brooks no nonsense or double-talk.
Gotta love him.
