[Updated] Nikki Caldwell Cruisin' For A Cause
Bumped with video from GMA. GO BRUINS. -N
The UCLA website has a very cool story up on Nikki Caldwell. She will be participating in the 4th annual "Crusin' for A Cause", which is a motorcycle tour geared towards raising funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer. The itinerary of her trip is as follows:
The motorcycle tour begins in Knoxville, TN on May 8, traveling to Roanoake, VA. The tour includes stops in Washington DC on May 9; New York City on May 10; Syracuse, NY on May 12; Erie, PA on May 13; Cincinnati, OH on May 14 and back to Knoxville on May 15 for a welcome home celebration.
Special events include a visit to a cancer center in Washington DC and a visit to Sloan Kettering Women's Cancer Center in New York. Also look for Caldwell, Warlick and crew on ABC's Good Morning America on May 11 at 8:30 am, and at the May 14 Cincinnati Reds/Chicago Cubs game in Cincinnati, where they will be special guests on the field exchanging roster line-ups and throwing out the first pitch for ESPN's Baseball Game of the Week.
Joining Nikki will be her friend Holly Warlick, the Tennessee associate head women's basketball coach. Nikki and Holly will be participating as apart of the organization the two formed, "Champions For A Cause" which has raised over $100,000 in the fight against breast cancer. You can read more about the organization and read the entire release here from the official site.
It's great to see that Nikki finds the time despite the rigors of coaching to participate in a cause very important to her, as well as one that is on the forefront of the womens basketball world with the still recent passing of Kay Yow.

UPDATE (N): Coach Caldwell and her crew appeared on Good Morning America yesterday. Take a look:

This is really cool
I think it will be awesome if Coach Caldwell keeps us posted through videos, photos or perhaps even a little blogging on the official site. Thanks for bringing this to our attention tb24.
I can easily picture her atop a Harley riding down the interstate.
I bet she’s got a mean streak that befits a motorcycle run of several hundred miles.

Hope she stays safe!
When I first heard her tell us (the band) she drives a motorcycle, I was surprised.
Ride, not drives...
You ride a motorcycle. Sorry about that, but those of us who ride go nuts when they see that. That said, good to see that site doing well. I’ve been hyper busy, so I haven’t had time to post in a while.
