It's beautiful.
I finally went out and picked up a times. The section for Coach is a great tribute and includes not only articles and poems from former players (Goodrich and Nader), but also wonderful pictures of all the championship teams. I hope those of you out of the L.A. area can find a copy. It’s also a fine contrast to the article on the front page of the sports section “Carroll’s legacy: No simple answers at USC”. Coach’s legacy is so simple and so powerful. Again, thank you Coach. And for once, thank you times for this section.
Go Bruins!
I wish I had the desire to blog about it
This section doesn’t make up for the tasteless and disgusting attack on the Coach just 3 days after his passing.
I was so impressed by the tributes and pictures the times was running after Coach's death. And then
the sports section did that hit piece. I wondered if the beautiful coverage was being done by a different group and than the sports section. It really was incredible for 2 days, the full out layouts, the beautiful pages on the front page and inside. Either their trying to please everyone, or they have competing values.
Go Bruins!
Interesting advertising
Since the Times is all ads all the time, I normally ignore term. But the ads in the special section all spoke of or quoted Coach in a touching way. In terms of advertising, I just don’t remember anything as collectively moving.
To put my Blue cynics hat on, the advertising in the Coach’s section is a big fund-raiser for the Times. And nonsubscribers bought today’s paper just because of the section honoring Coach. So cash had something to do with it.

Too little, too late, fishwrap
Not when the first comment out of their collective mouths is defamatory.
I don’t need the ’wrap’s tribute to know what I know about Coach. Frankly, it’s an insult for the ‘wrap to try to capitalize on a man’s death to sell a few more newspapers. As I have said before, I hope I last long enough to see the fishwrap’s last edition.

![[Turn down your volume before watching!]
As seen from the crowd, the last two minutes of UCLA vs. Arizona. Hopefully gives those who were not able to attend an idea of what it was like inside "Old" Pauley for the last time.](http://cdn2.sbnation.com/fan_shot_images/180811/0_small.jpg)
