UCLA L&S Graduation 2010: Video (And Lots of Pictures)

Bumped. Once again congrats again to all of our latest UCLA graduates from BN. GO BRUINS. - N

I attended my graduation this past Friday, joining the Bruin Alumni family as a member of the 2010 class.  Here's a video of a student led 8-clap before we took our seats.

Took several pictures throughout the ceremony. I am posting them after the jump.

I've never been prouder to identify myself as a Bruin for life.

Thank You

That brings back a lot of memories—even though our class ceremonies were in Pauley.

Good luck to you!

Thank you so much for the pictures and congratulations!

I stopped by campus on my way to JRS and was so moved by all the grads and families walking around. I could feel how proud they all work. It brought a tear to my eye. So much hard work, so much to be proud of. And the memorial at the bear had grown immensely!

I highly recommend getting a life time membership to the alumni association while you can. I’ve gone to so many cool sporting events for free with that card! (Everything except men’s basketball and football, and ncaa events like the super regionals.) It’s also a great way to support future bruins.

Go Bruins!

Wow

The graduation at Drake looked amazing. Mine was inside Pauley, but on a sunny day like that, with Royce and Powell in the background , you could not have a more perfect setting for a graduation: makes me wish mine was like that!

Yup

Ours was inside Pauley too (although we assembled at Drake first before walking in). The pictures look beautiful.

How was Gustavo Arellano?

I know there was tons of controversy. Congrats though, next year I’ll experience my high school graduation.

Thank you everybody

And congrats to my fellow members of the 2010 class! I know there are a few of us on BN.

To be completely honest, Gustabo Arellano was nice and a little funny. But he certainly was a disappointment as a keynote speaker at one of the most prestigious universities in the world. His speech was nothing too special, and although the man is a great Bruin in the journalism world, he isn’t exactly accomplished in the same sense that other former keynote speakers have been. Frankly, I see his selection as evidence as a lack of effort by the committee in charge of choosing the speaker. He wasn’t necessarily bad, but his speech was nothing special and that part was forgettable. The student speaker, although talking about a very controversial topic, was better. Even the guest speaker for my department graduation for Political Science was more impressive – Brian Cornell (CEO of Sam’s Club).

The venue on Drake was absolutely beautiful and the tribute to Coach was done well.

Not to be an asshole

But he sucked…as did our student speaker. I’m sorry but graduation is a time to remember the past 4 year of our college experience. Our graduation turned into a commentary on immigration.

Congratulations to all new Alums

I didn’t go to the full Graduation, just the English Dept. one in 2006, but it was still awesome
