Lots of rumors throughout last few months...so I would probably wait for official word from Pac. Utah is one of few option, however, that make sense.

I'll be pissed

if we end up in a division whose yearly conference games are comprised of $uc, ASU, UA, CU, and Utah, with the rest of the pac10 on a rotating basis. Couldn’t we keep the round robin minus one game a year, and have #1 v #2 in a conference championship game if that’s the endgame?

agreed

i’d love to see us play the NorCal schools every year. if it has to have two divisions, all four california schools need to be together.

According to the NCAA

you have to have at least 12 in your conference to justify having a conference championship game. Thats why the Big 10(11) didn’t have one all this time and was probably one of the major motivating factors to adding Nebraska.

Maybe...

three divisions of four schools. We play the three from our subdivision (Cal, Stanford that the other school) and all four from one of the other two subdivisions on a rotating basis. Getting a bit weird there, though.

I kind of like that

because then all the northwest schools play each other too, and there are some good rivalries there.

You could work it out

so that the 4 CA schools and the 2 AZ schools are in one division, then the Washington schools, Oregon schools and Utah/CU are another division.

Don’t forget, the ACC has two divisions put together based on rivalries and other factors; they just called them Atlantic and Coastal divisions. We could do something similar – doesn’t have to just be East/West or North/South.

Has there ever been a player better than Detlef Schrempf?

Good solution

Need to keep the California schools together. Your solution probably makes the most sense. OR/WA/CO/UT makes a good fit.

Potential problem with that setup is

that it could have the possibility of ending up like the former B12 where all the power was in the South (one of the primary reasons for the disharmony in the conference). CA has the most fertile recruiting grounds and population bases for exposure – the NW schools would not approve of potentially being shut out of annual trips to the state.

I should be working right now...

I vote for a symmetrical split

Division A
Oregon, Stanford, WSU, UCLA, Arizona, Utah

Division B
Oregon St, Cal, Washington, So Cal, Colorado

The teams can be moved around, but the idea that each rival is on the other side of the conference.
