Cheatey Petey calls NCAA penalties on southern con "really, really harsh"

This is the line that I find absolutely absurd
“He wants the NCAA and high schools to help in a grassroots effort to keep outsiders away from college athletes.”
It’s called a “closed practice.” My middle school coach did it all the time. We weren’t allowed to have friends, parents or even Snoop Dogg in the gym.
There had to be an exception
You mean even Suge Knight couldn’t sit in on practices?

Hey pete!
What about the baby mama bosses of United States China? Do they have to keep away from college athletes too?
Fire sale
Here’s my favorite, “He called rules allowing players to leave a potentially devastating ‘fire sale’ for the program.”
Sure peter, but just who do think is the arsonist?
Cheat is officially delusional
One person can do this, go after a university and a kid. And nothing has to be true. NOTHING has to be true. They just have to make claims, and then the investigations and all that are under way.
Wow. Really? NONE of it is true? None? Really.

The best thing you can do for your children is to love their mother. John Wooden
Cheatie was the perfect coach for them
Totally blind, and totally amoral. And also totally able and willing to flat out lie without inhibition. Isn’t that the definition of a sociopath?
Disagree with your take
First graders I’ve known are much more mature. They obey rules, share toys, and pick up after themselves.
If, by “really, really harsh,” Cheatey means “not nearly harsh enough,” then I’m in complete accord with the sleazester.
I was trying to remember when it first hit me that I didn't like that guy
I think it was when he was at Notre Dame and he did something that I thought was really classless at the end of the game, as he walked off the field. I just remember thinking how tacky and unnecessary.
But my real problem with him as a coach/leader of men came when he threw the effigy of Reggie Bush off of a roof during practice. My first thought was “Wow, that really wasn’t funny,” and then, “I can’t imagine John Wooden ever doing something like that anywhere but especially not at practice.” And when you think of it, what was the point of that? To goof around and blow off steam? What is funny about, for even a nanosecond, thinking one of your teammates if falling off a building? Maybe it is something that women (like myself) just don’t get. But, hey, I just don’t get it.
Pretty soon after that incident I was struck by the realization that Pete Carroll had one of the same problems that lavin had… the desire for his players to think he was cool. This is something that creates many bad teachers and parents. And while it may seem effective and fun at first, it always leads to an unraveling.
I believe Lendale White was thrown off the building
either way it was pretty stupid
RESCUING DANCE MUSIC FROM THE BLAHS
Great insight, ng
“Pretty soon after that incident I was struck by the realization that Pete Carroll had one of the same problems that lavin had… the desire for his players to think he was cool.” I never perceived that, but I think you’re right.
