Yesterday, there was a post from an Alabama fan who had come here to pay his respects to Coach and talked about the reverence Bama fans still feel about Bear Bryant to this day. It got me thinking about something. Here around Birmingham, you can buy various Alabama items that feature the checkered pattern of Bear Bryant's fedora as well as fedora stickers with Alabama's "A" on them. Why don't those of us in the Bruin family who have creative and artistic talents (that rules me out) come out with something that features the UCLA logo with Coach's glasses and/or a rolled program or newspaper. And just to take it further, have all proceeds go to the UCLA general scholarship fund and/or a charity like the Special Olympics (correct me if I'm wrong, but I think proceeds from the Wooden Classic benefit the Special Olympics). And while Mr. BB pointed out that Coach's glasses weren't the most stylish, I asked him when the last time he saw anyone wear a fedora. Thoughts or input?
