Los Angeles Super Regional (UCLA vs. CSUF) Ticket Information
On Sunday night, UCLA defeated UC Irvine to capture the 2010 Los Angeles Regional and advance to the Super Regionals. On Monday night, Cal St. Fullerton won their fourth consecutive elimination game to win the 2010 Fullerton Regional and advance to the Super Regionals. Now, Southern California's top two teams will compete for the right to play in the 2010 College World Series.
By virtue of earning the number six national seed with a stellar regular season, UCLA gets to host the 2010 Los Angeles Super Regional at Jackie Robinson Stadium. The Titans eliminated UCLA from the postseason in the 2007 Super Regionals and 2008 Regionals, but both of those contests were at Fullerton's Goodwin Field. Now, UCLA will benefit from home field in the best two-of-three series with the winner advancing to Omaha, Nebraska, where they will be one of the eight teams competing in the final College World Series at legendary Rosenblatt Stadium
The Super Regional schedule is as follows (all timesPacific):
- Friday at 7:30 pm
- Saturday at 4 pm
- Sunday at 7 pm (if necessary)
Ticket info. after the jump.
All three games will be televised live on ESPN2 nationwide. If you are in the Southern California area and want to check out the games in person to help provide the Bruins will a home field advantage, here is the ticket information.
Tickets for this weekend's NCAA Super Regional at Jackie Robinson Stadium can be purchased through UCLA's Central Ticket Office by calling 310-825-2101 or logging online to tickets.ucla.edu. All-Session Reserved ($42 adults/$30 students and youth) and All-Session General Admission ($30 adults/$20 students and youth) packages are available. Single-game tickets will be sold later this week, if available. Single-game reserved tickets cost $16 for adults and $13 for students/youth. Single-game general admission tickets cost $11 for adults and $9 for students/youth.
This weekend be the first time that UCLA will play host to the Super Regionals, a week after hosting the Regionals for only the second time in program history. It is yet another accomplishment in a season full of them, the latest being the team's win over UC Irvine to clinch the Regional and hand the Bruins a school-record 46th win on the season.

It took them nearly 40 hours after we won our Regional
for them to release ticket information. They gave no heads up and when the information came out, it was when tickets were already available. They didn’t work to set up a presale for Wooden Club members or alumni members like other schools and when they released the information, it was added to a post that went up Monday night. There wasn’t a new post so if you read the post Monday night or this morning without the ticket information, you would have no reason to click back there and check.
I don’t know whether this is a matter of Morgan Center or CTO or what, but whoever ran this really dropped the ball.

When the original post went up on Monday night, it said ticket sales would not start before Tuesday afternoon. So, when I went online at 11:45am, all the reserved seats were already gone.
Are they incompetant, or just don’t care?
Perhaps they have had their hands a little full ... last few days?
They have had to deal with something lot more important than UCLA baseball or any other sports.
This is something that other schools handle weeks ahead of time
and just post what they worked on weeks ago when it goes official. The work should not have been going in while we are dealing with the passing of Coach. It should have been done beforehand and they didn’t have a presale for Wooden Club members or Alumni Association members for the Regionals so there’s little reason to believe they would have done it for the Supers regardless of the situation.
I am aware that things have been tough for them, but this wouldn’t have been affected by it with proper planning.

Response From the Athletic Department
Here is a response that I received when I complained about the process earlier today:
I appreciate your email and understand your frustration. Baseball is an odd and difficult sport to manage in the post season. The NCAA will not allow us to “advertise” that we are hosting a Super Regional until it is awarded. It was only awarded to us at 8:20pm last night. We did not know our opponent until 11pm (end of CSUF game). It is required that we provide tix to the opponent in an equal capacity to us…so we had to wait until 10am when we were able to talk to Fullerton and get their needs. At 10am, we went on sale.
This is the “nature of the beast” with baseball. I know it if frustrating to you…imagine those of us who have to manage this from day to day. It is never easy.
Sorry
Still don’t buy it. We get that you can’t advertise hosting a Super until they are announced, but Florida was able to put out ticket information last night and they didn’t even know who they were playing until this afternoon because the Regional they were matched up with got pushed back by rain delay. If they can do it then having to wait until 11 pm do know the opponent doesn’t hold water.
I’m not saying tickets had to go on sale last night, but there should have been information available for how to go about getting tickets in advance of them actually going on sale. With a proper plan, that could have been communicated as soon as their hosting became official and it should have been done with a new post or link on the homepage, not buried in something old so people could so easily miss it.
That’s all I’m going to say on the topic. I think they did a very poor job.

Back in the Fall, I emailed them about scheduling for the women's soccer tournament
One round (can’t remember which) was here against Portland at virtually the same time as the football game at SC. It was set at a ridiculous time, so I complained. I got pretty much this same email, with slightly different logistical minutiae about how scheduling these things is tough. Again, other schools had managed to get round the difficulties they claimed.
TV
Are you sure the UCLA games will be shown nationwide? The schedule shows that the Florida-Miami game on Saturday is also starting at 4:00pm (PDT) and being shown on ESPN2. And, the Arizona State-Arkansas game on Sunday is also at 7:00pm and on ESPN2.
What is UCLA's recent record vs. Fullerton?
I seem to recall they have our number. Hopefully Bruins will turn the tables on this series.
UCLA lost both games this season.
I think the scores were 6-1 and 5-2.

Let’s all hope that our boys in blue will have Coach Wooden and all his guidance and spirit and principles in mind when they take on Fullerton. It won’t be easy but nothing worthwhile ever is. GO BRUINS!!!
