How many drafted HS Baseball players end up at UCLA

Since the draft finished today I thought I would look back at how UCLA did at retaining drafted players in the Savage era. Here is what I found. (I could have missed a few players so feel free to correct me if I have missed someone.)

Rounds 1-5-Bruins retained 1 out of 10. (Kept G. Cole, lost D. Nick, M. Stassi, T. Thompson, T. Chatwood, C. Dykstra, C. Murphy, J. Heyward, R Dent, J. Drennen)

Rounds 6-10-No Savage recruits have been drafted in rounds 6-10 before this year

Rounds 11-15 Bruins retained 2-3 (Kept T. Murphy and R Babineau, Lost B. Kirwan)

Rounds 16-25 Bruins Retained 3-3 (Kept C. Brewer, D Huff, and D. Klein

Rounds 26-40 Bruins retained 6-6 (R. Rasmussen, S. Griggs, C. Keefer, N.Gallego, C. Haerther, M. Drummond,)

Rounds 41-50 Bruins retained 3-3 (J. Gelalich, B. Amaral B,. Lodge)

This year since the Bruins have two recruits (Plutko 6th and Weiss 10th) who were drafted between the 6th and 10th rounds it should be interesting to see if Savage can hold on to these recruits who wil be needed to replace some of the pitchers the Bruins will likely lose to the pros. (Last year 11 out of 12 HS players in the 6th round signed and 8 out of 10 HS players in the 10th round signed so it may be a long shott to keep them.)

Based on the past, the other recruits that were drafted (Vandertug and Williams) will likely end up on campus.
