If the past week has taught us anything, it's that agent issues aren't limited to USC. The difference in the NCAA's eyes is in how the other programs react to such issues. When presented with accusations that their players might have had unsavory dealings with agents or financial advisors, the compliance departments at South Carolina, Alabama and Florida sprung into action. USC's department buried its head in the sand during the Bush era.

The one thing that sticks in my craw.

Recently we have seen a number of MSM pundits making similar observations. The Dan Wetzel piece for example, in which he skewers Cheat Carroll and Mike Garrett for fiddling while Troy burns. My problem with these journalists is “What took them so long?”

It is as if nothing that happened at South Central was factual until the NCAA said it was. The Yahoo! investigative reporters where seemingly the only reporters out there with the professional courage to report what was happening. Why the sudden indignation? I would be far more impressed had these guys made similar statements before the NCAA had ruled.

Preach it, Brother

Nobody from just$c* said one word about anything that was going on, ever. No one from the faculty. The single compliance officer said nothing. No one on the Board of Trustees said anything. And no one is surprised, because it’s a way of life over there. Always has been, and with Ethical Pat in charge, it always will be. The only way the act gets cleaned up is the death penalty, and maybe they can put something together in ten or twelve years.
