The new Pac-10 brand
This is a pretty interesting read. No matter what you think about the expansion, you have to like Scott's energy and vision.
I'd do a poll re: the new logo, but I don't know how.

This is from Ted Miller’s ESPN Pac 10 blog
Here’s the media days itinerary:
Tuesday (New York)
5 p.m. ET: News conference at the Manhattan W Hotel featuring all 10 coaches and the unveiling of new Pac-10 logo and football trailer. Pac-10 QBs will visit Times Square — where the Pac-10 football video will be playing on the Jumbotron — and the Empire State Building.
6 p.m.: Private cocktail reception at W’s “Whiskey Blue” with TV executives, corporate sponsors, former players and other VIPs.
8 p.m.: Coaches eat dinner with ESPN’s “GameDay” crew. Coach spouses will see Broadway musical, “Promises, Promises.”
Wednesday (New York, ESPN)
Morning: Coaches will ring the opening bell at NASDAQ and then conduct East Coast media interviews.
11 a.m.: Bus to ESPN offices in Bristol, Conn., where players and coaches will do interviews on all ESPN platforms.
5 p.m.: Charter flight from New York to Los Angeles; check in Peninsula Beverly Hills Hotel.
There’s more in the link. The point is, the Pac 10 is really improving their media approach.
Woo-hoo!
Not sure what I think about the new logo yet – not really impressed by it at the moment – but as I read through the SI article, I was thrilled to see this part:
In one a-ha moment, Scott was stunned when he learned from ESPN/ABC executives that the conference had turned down the reverse mirror option for split telecast football games on ABC. Reverse mirroring allows the portion of the country that doesn’t get a particular game on ABC to watch that game on one of ESPN’s family of networks. For example, if 33 percent of the country is getting Oregon-USC and 66 percent of the country is getting Michigan-Iowa on ABC, the east-coasters and Midwesterners who want to watch the Ducks and Trojans could simply tune to ESPN2. So instead of exposing the entire country to its product, the previous Pac-10 regime had forced Pac-10 football to remain largely a regional entity. Scott immediately corrected that mistake, telling ESPN that for the remainder of the existing contract, it could reverse mirror Pac-10 games at no extra charge.I’m guessing many other Bruins who have left Pac-whatever territory will be as happy as I am to read that.
In the immortal words of the pin I got while an undergrad: Roses are red, violets are blue...f*** $C.
That's nuts!
Why the hell would we they turn that down? I knew Hansen was outdated but this makes it seem like he was purposely trying to make the Pac10 irrelevant.

Best news I've heard all day
I live in Connecticut, and this is huge for me. Thank you, Larry Scott. I know that some people aren’t happy about the conference additions, but you can’t argue with the unprecedented amount of exposure the Pac-10 has had this offseason.
