Everyone remembers Eric Bieniemy right? The guy who brought MJD, Marcedes, Bruce Davis, Kevin Brown, etc. to the Dorrell era? The guy who delayed the near collapse of the Bruin Football Program?
Well Ol’ Karl’s terrible management of his staff continues to haunt us:
The Heisman Trophy runner-up, [Toby Gerhart], almost went to UCLA instead of Stanford because Bieniemy, then at UCLA, was recruiting him. But Bieniemy went to the Vikings and Gerhart went to Stanford.
Of course, it isn’t as bad as recruiting him as a Linebacker...
