There's no proof that Kiffin orchestrated this Baxter episode (and there likely never will be), but can there be any doubt? The five schools accused of the contact were the reigning national champion, the one Kiffin targeted most while at Tennessee, the reigning Pac-10 champion, the school where his former co-offensive coordinator at USC coaches, and a smaller in-state school thrown in to make it seem less hand-crafted. If you asked me to make a list of schools that Kiffin would be most likely to falsely accuse of something, all but Fresno would definitely be on the list.

Al Davis called Kiffin a "flat-out liar" when he fired him in Oakland. He lied about Urban Meyer committing a violation when calling Richardson. He boasted of having run his program free of legal incidents several days after Nysher Oliver had been busted for shoplifting. He promised after taking the USC job that he wouldn't actively recruit Tennessee's players, even though Tyler Bray confirmed that Ed Orgeron was doing that almost immediately after the move was announced. He promised Henderson that the NCAA sanctions wouldn't be that harsh when he had no way of knowing for sure.

At this point, just assume anything that comes out of that program is a lie. You'll end up proven right more times that not.

And, that's why he was hired and paid the big bucks

In questioning the salary the trogans were paying Lame, many looked at his win/loss record and then argued that it was not justified. They were looking in the wrong place.

Lame was hired for his extremely low score on the truth/veracity scale. It took big bucks to land the national champion of dishonesty. It took big bucks to land the man who stands alone amongst Div 1 coaches. It took big bucks to land the man who could meet sc’s very low expectations.

Who else could look at recruits and sincerely tell them sc would be ok, that at most they’d get a slap on the wrist? Who else could say he would not interfere with Tennessee’s recruits while at the same time have his staff calling them? Who else could sit back and let the rumor that sc was bringing back CNC run rampant when he knew there was no truth to it?

Lame was the obvious choice.

When you hire a champion you have to pay a champion — and in Lame, sc got the man who stands at the very bottom of the veracity charts — and will probably keep sc there for many years to come. Lie on!

I am getting worried a bit

We need to find a way to keep him there for a while. Perhaps we have to ease off here on BN.

I hope he has a huge buy out clause ---

I too would like to see him stay, forever. But, it won’t happen.

It won’t be the lying and cheating that will get him fired. That’s why he was hired and he will only get better at it.

It will be the fact that he is a very bad coach. One might argue that my Mom could win with sc’s talent and be partially correct. But, soon, with the defections and loss of scholarships, the talent advantage will be gone.

And, because he is a terrible coach — he will lose games and many that he should win. When that happens, he will be gone.

Because winning, no matter how, is what the trogans are all about.

There is nothing we can do about it. He will self destruct.

What is cool is

That all these defections will give HelloKiffin a ready made excuse if it doesn’t go well for them this year. It should be interesting.

it might also give kiff an excuse to stay a few more years

which would be great… “It’s not my fault, it’s the ncaa’s fault!”

+1

Start trolling $C forums praising Kiffin for what an excellent job he’s doing in his first year. :P

Great write up

Very interesting thoughts about the “selection” of schools.

Fresno State

Don’t forget it’s Kiffin’s “alma mater” (assuming he went to classes and studied in school).

The voice in Kiffin's mind...

This is going to be great…my plan is infaillable! Let’s bring down the champs, so I’ll blame Bama. I’ll blame Urban, because I hate that guy. I’ll blame Sark and the Pac champs and bring them down, too. And…oh yeah, I know! I’ll accuse Fresno State, my alma mater, because then NO ONE will think that I could be behind this. Bwahahahahahaha!!! I am soooo clever!!

Only a tool like Lame

could make a guy like Al Davis look like a genius

There are two kinds of liars my friends!

And Kiffin/SC is both.

Let the good times roll

This d-bag is going to bury that program. Maybe they should pay him a little more (haha) since all he has done as a coach is lie, lose,
cheat, and now run off recruits
