NBA Bruins (DC & Trevor Ariza) on the move
Proposed 4 team, 5 player trade.
Highlights -
DC to Indy, likely the starting point guard
Ariza to NO as sort of a demonstration to Chris Paul that they're building a stronger team.

You beat me to it
Don’t know enough about all of those teams to give any analysis, but to say that it will be good to see DC have the chance to start at the point this season. Hopefully his year under CP2 will have paid off.
formerly bruinhoo
I think this is great for DC.
DC and JF will now get to start and lead teams (although DC got to do that a lot of last year). When I heard about the trade, the first thing they said was Ariza going to New Orleans and I was really excited that Ariza and DC would be playing together. Oh well. But I think this is better for Darren, especially since it looks like cp3 is staying. Can’t imagine he’d get much playing time behind him. I wish the lakers would get him!
Go Bruins!
Farmar will play behind Devin Harris
I’m not sure about Farmar’s move. He is going to be playing behind a young, big, speedy, 1x All-Star (and defensive ace) Devin Harris. The offense is more suited to the way he wants to play—dribble drive motion—but aside from, that I never understood the choice.

Ummm...
Yes, he’ll play behind Devin….but, Devin has had injury problems. JF will get his minutes and playing time. Plus, NJ is a young team with a lot of potential, with an owner that wants to win, and is going to move to the NY bright lights.
THIS IS AWESOME!!
Can anyone remember the last time two NBA teams made a trade where the two primary pieces were a Bruin NBA starter for a Bruin NBA starter? This speaks so highly of Howland at the NBA level. Hopefully those douchewad NBA GMs don’t get any ideas about contract offers.
Great to see two Bruins as the key players,,,
but I don’t think we can claim Ariza’s success is a result of CBH. Ariza played one year for CBH on an 11-17 team, averaging 11.6 points and 6.5 boards. After his (IMHO) stupid decision to leave after one year, Ariza took way longer to become a key NBA player than he would have if he had stayed with CBH for 2 or 3 more years.
I would hope CBH wouldn’t get delusions about success in the League even if given an offer. He’d make some cold hard cash, but the record of successful college coaches trying to coach pros is pretty crappy, to put it mildly.
In the immortal words of the pin I got while an undergrad: Roses are red, violets are blue...f*** $C.
Ariza and CBH
I would disagree about Ariza. He did not want to be in school, IMO, and wanted to be playing in the league. He was able to experience NY and LA, win a championship, and earn a big payday. Now he even gets to play with CP3 – one of the top PGs in the league.
As for CBH…yes, college coaches have not been successful. However, if he went to the right team – that wanted to play lock down defense, and had the right players that want to learn and work hard – he could potentially be successful. It’s all about the right situation. Most of these deals have been about money and/or had players that were not going to respect a college coach.
Welcoming DC to the blue & gold of the NBA!
Here in Indianapolis, fans are thrilled about DC. The Indianapolis Star web page is loaded with comments celebrating the trade. The Pacers have struggled for years to find a point guard skilled at scoring, passing, and defense. With DC coming to town, the team may finally have a solution for years to come. If Earl Watson stays with the Pacers, we can be assured of a UCLA presence on the court virtually 48 minutes every game!
I have never contacted a pro team or athlete in situations such as this (I was out of town when Earl Watson arrived), so I’d appreciate advice about how to roll out the welcome mat for a Bruin moving into town!
If it's not too late...
find out when he’s arriving in town. Usually a crowd will meet a player at the airport.
Very Excited for DC
Sometimes it just doesn’t work out with the team that drafts you. Hopefully he becomes a starter the way AA did after being traded. Good luck DC.
Also excited for DC
but not working out isn’t a very accurate description imo. I think many would describe the situation as DC working out so well and exceeding expectations that the hornets are using him as a trading chip to better their team and make their star player (who happens to be a PG) happy.
Exactly
Saying DC didn’t work out for the Hornets is like saying Steve Young wasn’t starter material for the 49ers in 1989, you gotta consider the circumstances : ) Within a few games of CP3’s injury, the Hornets knew that they had themselves a top notch bargaining chip in DC.
The only downside is that now we are even less likely to catch DC on tv. The Pacers never get airtime.
And MAH too!
Mustafa Abdul-Hamid will start his pro career in Serbia playing with powerhouse Hemofarm Vrsac!
Best of luck to all three: DC, TA and MAH!
