Better Late Than Never: Photos From Sunday's Practice

Bumped. GO BRUINS. -N

So I know Sunday is kind of old news, so I will spare you my practice notes for the most part since we have had several practices since then. But I will say that I believe it was the first day that Bell was starting to gain his footing. He did not look bad at all, he even connected on TD pass that I was not able to capture because photos were not allowed to be taken during 11 on 11's.

Riley was very impressive, jarring a ball lose from a receiver that Love grabbed before it hit the ground that went for a pic 6. So this post is going to be more of a photo essay. Hope you enjoy. Lots of shots after the jump.

Again sorry about the delayed reaction of this album, for I was not able to figure out the SB Nation picture loading system. Had to go as far as creating a photobucket account to get these up here. Go Bruins... For some reason I feel like I am quoting Nestor when I say that.

Great effort Malt. You sure have come a long way from your early days of text style commenting on BN. Only if our QBs/OL can develop the same way you have … lol.

Not sure if it's been mentioned in the practice reports

but Anthony Jefferson has unbelievable size for a corner. He’s bigger than most of our receivers. After he red-shirts and put on some more muscle, he is going to be special.

Thanks Malt!!!!

Late is OK. Just nice to have some way to see these guys in action and get to know them before the season starts.

Enjoyed the photos

The photos are warming as we get closer to the season. One question though. What is the position of Jerry Rice Jr. and what is his status as of now?

by homeadvantage on Aug 17, 2010 12:38 PM PDT reply actions

He's WR

He is looking really good and is in the rotations during practice with the team (not the scouts). I don’t believe anything official has been announced. I think he will be in the mix behind Embree, Rosario, Marvray, Smith. I think he’s done better than Carroll and as well as Johnson. But I’m really only guessing here and don’t know a thing. I think there’s a lot of talent out there and it could be a lot of the guys will be getting lots of looks.

Go Bruins!

Well, after today's practice I should change this comment.

Rice fell back a bit as Smith got a full practice. Also, he seems to be behind Carroll. He did get wide open a couple of times but the balls were badly thrown. I’m sure others will comment, but scrimmage was amazing today. Lot’s of great plays on both sides of the ball. Things seem to be clicking.

Go Bruins!

Action-stopping pictures, enjoyable commentary

Thanks.

Since we have two players named Darius, is the plural “Daria”?

Sorry to nit-pick

Thanks man...

I was chomping at the bit to go on Sunday, but used up all my chits on Saturday….

Looks like you have a pretty sweet camera that takes great photos.

As an aside, do you just remember the plays or are you writing stuff down? I have a hard time keeping track when I take photos and would like to know what other people do….

by Scotucla03 on Aug 17, 2010 8:08 PM PDT reply actions

I didnt write anything down

since most of the practice was position drills until the end. I believe it was one of the lighter practices since they had scrimmaged and had a double the day before. But I think writing stuff down would be a good idea for the next practice I go to. Ecspecially since the bar of expectations have been raised for lol. I think it would work well for taking notes on interior lineman stuff since for the most part I dont naturally watch football and analyze what is going on in the trenches. Glad everyone enjoyed.
