"My main focus is on winning, something we haven't done in a few years," Ayers says following a recent practice, sweat droplets sliding off his forehead. "I'm working hard and trying to bring my teammates along."

They might not be winning games [yet]
but they’re definitely winning fans with their attitude.
Akeem, I only have one thing to ask of you: Get Barkley and don’t get a penalty. That’s it. I want you to hit him so hard that they’ll have to skip his backup and go straight to the 3rd string QB.
The rest, you can take care of yourself.
But hey, what do I know. Iām just the 800 lbs bruin in the room.
Absolutely!
I cannot get through to my Dorrellista friends that the losses under CRN are less
painful to watch than previous losses because of the fire and effort of our team, now.
Even one of the most painful moments in UCLA football History, last year’s $c game,
was less painful for me. CRN’s timeout (with 52 seconds left & trailing by 2 TD’s) sent
the message: “We came to play for 60-minutes and by god we’re playing for 60-minutes!”
We all know their play action scored a TD and all hell broke loose, but even that showed
why CRN is the best coach for UCLA: after the game he responded to a reporter’s question
about how he felt about that TD and $c piling on points, etc. He said that he had no hard
feelings because we came to play and it was our job to stop that TD. No excuses. No
Whining. No “What’s your deal?” We’re not going to beg for respect- we’re going to earn it.
And that attitude is infectious. Man, Sept 4th cannot come soon enough!!

Yep.
The losses from the last two years were less painful because the upward overall trajectory of the program waspalpable. I really believe this upward trajectory will manifest itself this year. We’ve had three Scout.com top-10 recruiting classes in a row… now it’s business time. Can’t wait!
