Around SBN: Ryder Hesjedal Wins Giro d'Italia

The rest of the article is ESPN Insider, but has a lot of really great quotes from the 4 star prospect out of Arizona. I don't really know the rules on quoting things from subscriptions, but he responds positively to a question about the Pistol and him believing he would be a good "dual threat" QB.

In any case, there is still a lot of things he talks about that are very encouraging for us. Moderators, if I've said too much already, please take down the post.

I'll say this abiut Hundley

No matter which school he chooses, he’s handled his recruitment as well as he can. He’s been thorough, classy and has given every indication that he has a good head on his shoulders. I really hope we land him, but everything about his recruitment has been very good. His parents should be proud of the way they raised him.

Usually I’ll give kids a complete pass on how they handle their recruitment. It’s completely new to them, they are 16-17 years old, and they have entire coaching staffs and fan bases completely fawning over them. It’s a lot too handle, but Hundley has certainly handled everything with an incredible amount of maturity. I sure hope we land him, but even if he ends up in Washington, it will be very difficult to root against him.

We're havin' too much fun today. We ain't thinkin' 'bout tomorrow.

No data to back this up, but I really like our chances. Perhaps looking at our QB situation, he may think he’s good enough to compete. Throw in two coaches who are incredibly offensive-minded in CRN and CNC, we are in a very good position.

Our possible pitch to him might be something in the ballpark of, ’you’ll redshirt and compete for starting position the rest of your time here’. Lastly, who would pass up a chance to play with Malcolm Jones?

Just checked the weather for Seattle this weekend.

Unfortunately, Hundley won’t be getting a true picture of playing ball up there> Mostly sunny and in the high 60’s.

Go Bruins!
