Kareem to appear on The Simpsons
As a long-time fan of The Simpsons (and obviously a UCLA fan) this excites me. The new season starts in September.
I wonder how they'll use Kareem. It's also amazing the Simpsons is entering its 22nd season. Any other Simpsons fans here?

Can't believe The Simpsons is still on...
The show is old enough to be my younger brother. I do have fond memories of it though.
WOW in that article
the facebook creator gets the headline while Kareem is bunched together with a bunch of other celebs!
Anyway, I wonder if he’ll play a different character or himself. I own seasons 3,4, and 5 on DVD, and I basically memorize some episodes. 22nd season is looking pretty good now.
RESCUING DANCE MUSIC FROM THE BLAHS
I've been a fan since the episode in which
Sideshow Bob asked Bart if he had any last request before he was killed, and Bart asked Sideshow Bob to put on the Mikado.
The Simpsons debuted when I was a freshman at Hedrick Hall
We watched it in the 4th floor lounge along with “Married with Children” every Sunday night.
Did anyone else see that Lisa's wedding date just passed?
In season 6, they did an episode in which a fortune teller describes Lisa’s wedding to a Brit named Hugh. The date on the wedding invites was August 1st, 2010. A buddy of mine sent me the screen cap of the invite and it sort of freaked me out. I hadn’t thought about it until then but if the characters had been aging since the first Tracy Ullman show appearances, Bart Simpson would be about 33 years old.
Yikes!
At least we don’t have virtual trees

Saw that the other day
Thought it was hilarious. Kinda wish we had those crazy biplane looking airliners.

Depending on Satire and not comedy...
…allows for longevity.
While it doesn’t always fly high, there are enough gems in the asides alone to prove the Simpson’s worth compared to the laugh-track-driven sitcoms that have come and gone over the last 21 years.
I can't go a day without quoting the Simpsons
Probably my all-time favorite quote, “If you really want something in life, you have to work for it. Now quiet, they’re about to announce the lottery numbers.”
I also call Jonathan my special little guy, like Marge does with Bart.
Last basketball season
in a game against Arizona, Drago blocked a shot which led to a JA bucket plus a foul and someone in the game thread wrote “I guess if you give a million monkeys a million typewriters”. My immediate thought was; “it was the best of times it was the BLURST of times”
Hilarious sidenote, I couldn’t remember exactly when that play/thread comment occurred so I did a search on the word “monkey” and about half of the results in the “Stories” section were related to the term “cheese eatin’ surrender monkeys”. Simpsons fans ought to appreciate that tidbit.
Best of Times, Blurst of Times
Since I went to London and Paris on my honeymoon, I couldn’t stop saying that line, until Mr. BB threatened me with divorce.
