As expected -- U$C fires baseball coach.
From the LA Times: "USC ousts baseball coach Chad Kreuter",

Is hilarious:
USC is expected to look outside its current staff for a permanent replacement. Oregon Coach George Horton, UCLA Coach John Savage, Cal State Fullerton Coach Dave Serrano and University of San Diego Coach Rich Hill probably will be pursued to gauge interest.
snip
Savage last season led UCLA to a 51-7 record and the College World Series, where UCLA lost to South Carolina in the championship series. Savage, who has been at UCLA for six seasons, was a USC assistant under Gillespie from 1996 to 2000. He left USC to become head coach at Irvine, where he coached for three seasons before moving to UCLA.
Dream on Trogans.
Maybe they can get McGuire...he knows how $c wins.
I wrote this because I too saw the wwl cushings steroid piece. Will they ever connect the dots and see all that has come out of that place!
Go Bruins!
Well...
he does have the right temperament for a baseball coach.
Still, he is a Bruin and I would never want him to go anywhere near that cesspool “over there”.
But hey, what do I know. I’m just the 800 lbs bruin in the room.
His wife
Mrs. Savage is the daughter of Nevada’s football coach Chris Ault. Guess who made the connection between Nevada and UCLA over “revolver”? Yep, none other Lisa Savage.
Moreover, it was Ault who recommended Savage to DG. Savage to Southern Cal is a pipe dream concocted by the Trojan Times.
The biggest recommendation DG got on Savage when looking for a coach at Irvine
was from Mike Gillespie. Savage and Gillespie are close and Gillespie didn’t exactly leave SC with the warmest and fuzziest of feelings.
I’ve heard from several people that the chances of Savage leaving for SC are between slim and none, but with regards to the entire coaching search over there (not just with regards to Savage), a lot of issues holding the baseball program back were because of Garrett. With him gone, nobody is 100% sure how SC is going to treat and handle the baseball program.
