Perhaps this is a call out for LVBruin after the fantastic fanshot he put up last week (which should have been a fanpost) documenting every single Kevin Prince pass from the Kansas State game.
We have had a lot of discussion here on the "revolver formation" since it was unveiled during spring practice. We knew while this was going to be our base package, the coaches were not doing away with the pro-set offense in their overall scheme.
So far in terms of data we are 2 games into the season. We can look at the game statistics to judge the effectiveness of this offense but it doesn't tell the whole story.
What I think could be incredibly revealing is if someone has the time and patience to look through the video of last 2 games, and then next 2-3 games and put together some data organized in a chart like this:
Set |
No. of plays |
Yds Gained |
No. of Rush |
Yds |
YPR |
Pass Attempts |
Completions (%) |
YPA |
TDs (R/P) |
TOs |
Pro |

|
|
|
|
|

Revolver |

Having some data (and perhaps spliced video) filling out those categories could be incredibly enlightening and give us a frame of discussion based on reality. What would be even more interesting is if the stats could be furthered drilled down into down situations to get a sense of what Chow is thinking.
Anyone up for a project like this? No worries if folks don't have time. However, if someone wants to take a shot, it would really help raising the level of discussion here on our season to another level.
GO BRUINS.
