Around SBN: The Ten Worst Swings Of The 2011 Season

Happy Hour Gathering Info. For Bruins In the KC Area Friday Night

Bumped. GO BRUINS. -N

Let's all meet at Johnny's Power & Light, around 6:30-7:00.  It's a sports-happy bar, with Jayhawk roots.

Wear your Bruin gear, and let's have some fun!

(Parking can be challenging.)  Here's a map of the area

Johnny's is #10.

It would be great if you'd chime in here, so I'll have sort of a "head count," and I can call Johnny's ahead of time.

UPDATE: Posted this 411 on our Facebook Fanpage (if you are not a member yet and have a FB account you should consider joining today by simply hitting the "Like" button). I'll be there!

I’ll be wearing my blue Joe Bruin T-shirt – I have a new one now, so I can wear it tomorrow, and continue the tradition of wearing my old one on game days. I’ll shoot for 6:45ish, though as I have a ways to come, I have no way of knowing exact timing. Bruingirl, if you’ll be online while there (I’d assume they’d have wi-fi), I’ll text an email to you if I’m going to be way later than that.

Roses are red, violets are blue...f*** $C.

If everyone is still there later I'll be there

My dad and I are flying in early evening tomorrow and headed to the Royals game. Then to Arthur Bryant’s for some BBQ and then checking in at Hotel Phillips(priceline for cheap). I’ll be headed over there for a drink or two anyways and I’ll sure to stop by Johnny’s and see if people are there.

Love Hotel Phillips

They’ve done some remodeling, but it’s still as charming & old school.

can't wait for game day!

I live in Topeka but I can’t make it tonight. My babysitters are scheduled for tomorrow so I can be at the game with my Wildcat buddy! I’m going to have some fun wearing my blue and gold in the K-State Alumni season ticket section!!!
Any Bruin tailgates going on tomorrow? Any particular meeting-up locations planned?

Okay

Plane lands 650pm hopefully. Get there as soon as possible after that. See you there!

We'll See You There, 15

(I keep thinking there just has to be more Bruins coming into KC tonight!)

If you see them at MCI, be sure and let them know to come to Johnny’s!

Okay!

Only if I see on my flight because I don’t expect to spend too much time at MCI ie land and head over to the rental car place.

No luck!

Only 2 other UCLA people on my flight and they are staying in Topeka.

If you're in KC, I think it's mandatory that you stop at least once at Bryant's on Brooklyn

In a way, it’s like Tommy’s, in that you need to be ready when it’s your turn to order. Don’t get stage fright, of you’ll be skipped. But it’s worth it. Great sandwiches (at least as of 10-15 years ago) and a unique ambiance (aka, it’s a barbecue joint, and not a classy restaurant.)

Four of us

before I left; don’t know if a few more tricked in after that or not. A good time was had!

That cools, uclalv!

That total included my KSU grad dad. But it was nice to put a face to the name. Thanks BG83 and KSB! Maybe someday, KSU will play UCLA in basketball in Pac-10 vs Big 12 challenge, and we can meet again.
