UCLA's utilization of the blitz. Overall, I'd say it was successful with a sack, a turnover, a QB laid out and probably as many plays for little gain as went for decent/big gains.

For all the offensive improvement possible,
I will say that the tackling in this game was pretty darn good. In a sense, a worth while “trade-off” if such an option was ever available.
In a couple of them
we went to man coverage and if the running back stayed in, the linebacker we assigned to cover him went in on a blitz, which I think was a good way of being conservative, but still creative. You’ll notice a few zone blitzes thrown in there too and even when we blitzed, it was usually five. Bullough was spot on in being conservative, as is the gameplan vs. Texas, while still being creative.
