Road Jerseys..
I just wanted to get an unofficial poll going to see what you guys think of the darker blue (Navy?) numbers and trim on the road jerseys. Personally, I like last year's "true" blue numbers and trim. Those were more unique to us as Bruins, IMHO. What do you guys think?

I gave the dark blue a try
but just didn’t like it. I thought it would match the script on the helmet but it doesn’t. The true blue was very unique and I thought stood out a lot more on television.
True blue
And I agree, I noticed the navy blue didn’t really match the script on the helmets neither. Plus, I think it’s about time we stick to just ONE type of blue.
True blue +1
We need to pick one color. They only made it worse by having two different blues on the same uniform, and making it all clash. Hey…maybe that’s why we played so poorly! (Stated with tongue-in-cheek…) Also, why give us something closer to Cal or Michigan’s color? We might as well piss off all tradition and make the dark blue area all black (to give all of the older alum another stroke).
I honestly don't notice the difference.

Great topic BlueWave
I’ve gone ahead and put up an actual poll on the front page (right hand column, scroll down a bit). Good work getting this discussion going BW and I hope all of the folks here put in their vote.
Thanks!
Cool..Thanks...
I read the posting FAQ, but I didn’t feel confident enough to give a poll a try.

I'm surprised others noticed
that the blues didn’t match. When the script was changed during the Toledo tenure, its color was changed from Navy to Light Navy, as were the other “navy” details. From a distance, smaller trim areas in Navy tend to look black, while Lt. Navy remains clearly blue. The new changes to the road jerseys are the old navy and thus look darker. As for the True Blue, it simply doesn’t contrast very well with the Lt. Old Gold, which is why even our home uni’s had to use Navy and White outlines in the first place. I can remember our uni’s from the early ’70 which had gold (yellow) numbers on the powder blue with no navy outline; in black and white photos the numbers were nearly impossible to read.
To me, it would look best if all the blue elements on the road uni’s were Lt. Navy, and if we could please get rid of the double outlines on the numbers. For road jerseys, there isn’t an issue with contrast and they just clutter up the look.
Marketing 101
We get a D+ at marketing the Bruin brand. We need to pick a color of blue and stick with it. While we’re at it, pick three or less versions of UCLA logo, instead of about 10+ on the various hats, shirts, etc. BTW, there’s nothing distinctive about the Bauhaus logo design. Whatever the version of blue, let’s get consistent. It would be nice if everyone showed up at a game in the same color blue. I doubt Stanford fans are going to show up Saturday night with different versions of red. I have a dream that one day Bruins will be judged by the color of their shirts! (and the content of their character is cool, too!) While we’re at it, can we get the real Joe Bruin back? This version the last two years looks like we bought the generic mascot costume where you can slap a tail, buck teeth and psycho eyes on it and you have Benny Beaver. Can we get some facial definition on Joe? GO BRUINS!

Great Post....
Love the MLK reference. Great job.
We have the same problem here at Pepperdine with our blue and orange. Is our blue a royal blue with orange like Florida or is it Navy blue and orange like the Denver Broncos? I wish they would decide too.
In any case, I’m just happy the Bruins are with Adidas and not Nike. I’ve always hated the Oregon unis and now they have infected VA Tech and some other schools. I know guys, if we had gone with Nike it wouldn’t mean we’d have top go with that style of uni..but still.

Bauhaus logo
Worst. Logo. Ever.
Oh, and the school paid thousands for someone to “design” that piece of crap.
Posted this real late on the video fanshot of the "new" road unis...
very disappointed with this development. Sure the only thing that matter is the product on the field, but the constant tinkering with the colors is driving me nuts. How about Texas using Tennessee Orange for their away unis? Not a chance.
On the color of blue: adidas refers to our blue as "Airforce Blue" for some reason (PMS close to 285c). I wonder why they had to call it this, but they did. Pisses me off bit that a color that was developed for our school is called something total different. I could have been fine with something like Pacific Blue or whatever. Adidas still can’t get us practice jerseys in our actual colors. Again, do you think Texas would be ok with Syracuse orange practice jerseys???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You think SUC is using MAROON practice jerseys this fall season?
And yes "Airforce Blue" looks fine indeed as the helmet script logo. When the Bruin Lacrosse team used Riddell helmets with the same paint job a few years ago, we had the decals made to match the blue. It is not all that much lighter than the current Royal blue used and looks really sharp and matches the rest of the uni. Oh well…so much for branding…
