Depth Chart for Stanford
So, UCLA released their pre-Stanford depth chart. It seems little early for that, but it is out. There are no significant changes as far as I can tell, other than the fact that Mike Harris is eligible now.
I'd like to see Ricky Marvray get the start this week vs Stanford considering his fantastic offseason performance, his TD last weekend, and because Embree dropped a number of catchable balls. I think Marvray has earned a chance. Let Embree win it back next week. I know there are other things to consider like Embree's leadership role, but how far do you take that? Usual disclaimer: I'm not the coach, haven't seen everything, etc, etc. This is just my "fan" opinion.

embree
should def not be taken out of his starting spot for dropping some balls. Even if one of those balls cost us a first and goal on the five. Every player has bad games and you have to let him pick himself up because of his ability to perform and lead the team. If he has more games like this one then I would be in favor of trying other options.

True
you shouldn’t pull a guy for one bad game, but Embree has only been average for the last 2 years. With the exception of Saturday, he has been relatively steady, but that’s it. Personally, I think Marvray has earned a crack at the start (and a chance to be better than steady) because of constant excellence in practice and a TD in first reception in college football (a very nice grab btw). Let’s see what he can do.
I agree
that Marvray needs some more PT. Buts lets not forget that KSU was his college game and that his PT should come here and there. We cant just thrust him into a starting roll this early, he should steadily become part of the game plan and eventually maybe later on in the season he will be catching more and more balls. His TD was nice, I just would not want to see him get overwhelmed by the offense. WHich Embree probably has more of a grasp of considering the point in their individual careers.
Embree will be fine. DIdnt he set some sort of UCLA freshmen receiver record? The guy has talent and is a coaches kid that knows the game. KP and him (along with the other receivers) will get their timing back and have a productive season that leads to a bowl birth.

no way
do u take Embree’s spot away. If CRN did that for every mistake, we’d have a different starting unit for every game. KP had 3 turnovers, but he’s still the man. Hopefully, all questions will be answered after the Bruin win this weekend.

How many of the dropped balls were Embree's?
I remember the big drop in the red zone but I also remember the announcers mistakenly pinning an early drop on Embree when it, in fact, belonged to Rosario.
Barr had one
on a third down play that looked like he was afraid of taking a hit so he backed away from the reception. There were two drops on the first two plays i believe at least one of which was Pressley .

Both of those were definitely Pressley
but now that I think about it, the early ABC mix up was crediting Embree with a catch when it was really Rosario. That being said, I still don’t know how many balls Embree actually dropped. Te butterfingers thing seemed more like a team effort to me. You’re right about Barr and Marvray had one too.
