"What’s really kind of interesting is one of UCLA big recruits (Brett Hundley) came in early for 2011 and he is on same floor as I am. It is almost like we’re complete opposites. He is about to start college and I am almost done with mine.’’

An NFL dream wedged between quarters on campus
After UCLA, I went into management consulting. I got a downtown apartment, drove to client sites, and flew to company meetings. Then I left consulting and entered a master’s degree program. On that first afternoon back in school, I felt like I’d entered a monastery! My little grad school dorm room had nothing but a wooden chair, an old desk, a bed, and a concrete floor.
Imagine how it must feel for ATV to squeeze into a desk in an undergraduate classroom and take notes from a professor, while fresh memories flash by of racing through the grass and tackling athletes in a roaring NFL stadium. Imagine walking down the hall with a toothbrush to use the dorm bathroom after hanging out in five-star hotels with a team of millionaires. Imagine shifting from the shining lights of press conferences to walking down a Boelter hallway en route to a TA session. Welcome back to college, ATV!
Hedrick Summit is no monastery
And at worst he has to share a bathroom with the room next door.
