Getting the "Cairo Treatment" from UCLA football

It has been 45+ days since Rick fired Chuck Bullough.

UCLA still has no DC in place with just 48 hours till NSD. The silence from UCLA football offices would make Mubarak's administration envious.

Lots of rumors and wild speculation are floating around message board that this is all part of some super secret plan from Rick Neuheisel to pop some pleasant surprises on NSD.

I suppose Randy Shannon making some sort of announcement could be a splash on signing day but we are not going to hold on to that kind of fantasy.

We get that this is a small recruiting class and the primary need has been met through the enrollment of Brett Hundley. We also get that hiring the right assistant coach is the most important thing on Rick's plate. But the plate has been empty for days and there are no signs what dish Rick is going to fill it up with and whether it will be a healthy course for the football program.

What is troubling that if Rick doesn't get the DC hire right, the thin class from this season will eventually take its toll should UCLA is having to scramble to fill next year's class with a brand new head coach.

Not a lot of comforting thoughts right for UCLA football. Getting the Cairo treatment is not helping either.

If you are reading recruiting related notes feel free to share in this thread.
