Attention Frosh/Sophs: Your New Neighbor Might Be an NFL Player

This week we've discussed the decision of Akeem Ayers to take his talents to the NFL after his Junior season. However, UCLA will be getting an NFL player in return: Tennessee Titans rookie cornerback Alterraun Verner.

Verner flew home from Tennessee on Wednesday, moved into his on-campus dorm room last night and attended classes today. He is enrolled in three courses this quarter.

"I made a commitment to myself last year that I would return to UCLA to work on completing the requirements for my degree," said Verner.

"It's great being back at UCLA. I'm going to enjoy living up at the dorms and seeing all the familiar faces on campus. It feels like home to me."

It's great to see him returning to finish what he started, following in the footsteps of BN favorites Arron Afflalo, Russell WestbrookDarren Collison, and Kevin Love.

It's great to have a positive football story.

He could have been living a few blocks north of Sunset

but he’s back in the dorm.

That’s probably going to get us some sanctions from the NCAA. I don’t know how, but it probably will.

Hedrick Summit probably

Since Hedrick Hall is closed this year. That’s somewhat isolated

Hedrick? Man, would've loved to have him in Sproul.

Didn't DC

also return this past year to finish the final requirements for his degree?

Wow

This dude makes how many $$ millions and he’s living in hedrick! Major props!

Hedrick Hall isn't open this year

If he’s in Hedrick, it’s definitely Hedrick Summit, which is similar to the suites yet not as isolated. That’s a pretty far walk to campus, looks like his conditioning won’t be a problem this offseason.

Yeah but he was only a three star recruit...

AV is a class act. He represents UCLA very well.
