BN Gameday: Stanford Pre-Game Thread
We have a later kickoff against the Trees tonight at 7:30 pm PST. Our game thread is going up around 7:15 pm PST. So we still have a huge chunk of Saturday (more than just 5 hrs) to take in lots of football action while getting ready for the Bruins.
Already we have seen two great games as Texas A&M choked themselves with NFL conservatism and gave away a game to Arkansas. Air Force pulled out a dramatic OT win against Navy after giving away their big lead. Lot more to come. Some of the game we are going to pay attention will include Clemson's visit to Virginia Tech (3:00 pm PST, ESPN2 or ESPN3), the battle of the "Reds" between Nebraska and Wisconsin in Madison (5:00 pm PST, ABC), Texas's road trip to Iowa State (4:00 pm PST, FX), Alabama and Florida rolling around in the Swamp in Gainesville (5:00 pm PST, CBS).
If you haven't had a chance, take a look at our BN pick'em thread here. You can also check out our Stanford previews here and here.
So if you are watching other games today, share your quick takes, observations or pre-game nervous musings, here is our open thread. Have fun.
GO BRUINS.

If CRN ends up having to leave
can we get Baylor’s coach and Robert Griffin III in a package deal?
can we get urban and tebow in a package deal?

for the most part
suc is looking like a first half team
41-34 Trogans ...
But if the Wildcats defense can get another stop, this game will be tied up. The $ucster defense has no life left – looking tired and beaten.
yeah... not happening

if it does come down to the wire
count on a biased ref to screw over Arizona in the end
however, $C just made a big run so maybe it won’t get close…
For those interested
I stumbled across a video via the UCLA athletics website regarding the pauley pavillion renovation. I can’t embed it for a fanshot, so if you want to take a look at it go to http://www.uclabruins.com/allaccess/ and look for the video titled “Pauley Pavilion Renovation”. It was posted on 9/27/11.
Robert Griffin
18 TDs and 17 incompletions on the SEASON.
it is unheard of
at this point, Luck might only be the 2nd best QB in the country.
Griffin was also an all-world hurdler in track as well.
If he’d stayed and ran his senior track season (he enrolled early at Baylor), he would have broken the national HS record in the 300 hurdles.
Afternoon Guys
Looks like Michigan State is in pretty good shape against Ohio State in C-bus; up 10-0 with a little over 5 minutes left and with the ball deep in Buckeye territory. A lot of embarrassment over in Dinkeytown as Michigan thrashed the goofy Gophs earlier today 58-0. Will be watching with great interest on the Nebby-Wisconny and Texas-Iowa State games. I think the ’Clones will play the ’Horns tough in Ames.
Crap. Touchdown USC.

For a just a picosecond I was really excited that our game showed up on
ESPN.com’s main page score ticker. They only display popular / ranked teams. But then I came back to 2011 and realized it was just because we were playing Stanford.
I'm going to hate to see how our pass "defense" holds up against Utah
They are making so really great throws against Washington right now
They couldn't do anything against SC and Montana St.
And UW defense is not close to good.
I'm pretty sure uw's defense
is rated in the 100s…I could be wrong….maybe in the 90s. Holt has done a pretty bad job overall.
"A legend is an old man with a cane known for what he used to do. I'm still doing it." Miles Davis
I'm at Stanford now
There are a lot more Bruins out here then I expected. I thought there wouldn’t be many, but it holds up with most games we have up here. Hopefully the team gives us something to cheer about.

With Dye hurt, I wonder if it might make more sense talent wise to move Riley back to FS, and Hilliard SS.

Dye is a game time decision. Considering Price, Hilliard, and Mascarenas all didn’t make the trip consider him probable as we will most likely need him to play.
Anthony Barr out 3-6 weeks as well as he got a scope on his knee yesterday.
Hilliard and Mascarenas
didn’t come? I knew Hilliard was hobbled, but didn’t think he wasn’t even questionable. What happened to Mascarenas?
