This is the question Ramona Shelburne asked in her article UCLA, for better or worse, stands pat posted on ESPN.com. She also notes the Bruins Nation and OccupyUCLAAthletics fan movement to support the players by being at the game on Saturday, but to send a loud message to Chancellor Gene Block, AD Dan Guerrero, and most of all failed head coach Rick Neuheisel by wearing brown paper bags and sitting in as the "unknown bruin."
"Firing Neuheisel after a loss like last week might feel good in the moment and might appease the members of his constituency who plan to wear brown paper bags over their heads at UCLA's next home game against California on Saturday, but where would it leave UCLA? And how would it get the Bruins closer to winning any of their final five games this season?"
Well, to answer your question @ramonashelburne, it would leave us with the possibility of clearing out this albatross of a mess we currently have under Rick Neuheisel and opening up the opportunity to get a real, proven, coach in, because at this point in time we have recruits laughing at us on Twitter. We have long-time season ticket holders like myself waking up to go to the Rose Bowl sick to their stomachs at the lack of discipline, fundamentals, and coaching we will see on the field and have seen now for three and a half years. Not to mention having to suffer the humiliation of a blowout loss.
And quite frankly, nobody else in our society is allowed to perform (failed) at the level Neuheisel has and still keep their job (save wall street bankers).
WE ARE TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT THIS CORNER WE ARE ABOUT TO TURN. In fact, we are so tired, that Rick Neuheisel stopped giving "post -game" crowd talks on the mic because even he knows we as Bruins Nation are tired of the B.S. he has pilled high and deep.
